Amazon.com ReviewCool off during the hot days of summer with this powerful turbo fan from Honeywell. The .52-amp fan sits alone or can be wall-mounted to provide a steady breeze. Tilting back 90 degrees, the fan also enhances air circulation in stagnant rooms and can assist in clearing smoke or hot air out of a room when pointed away from the room in question. Sleek in design, the compact fan fits into most interior design motifs.
The fan features a convex grill to protect the high velocity blades and allow air to flow unhindered. A powers the fan. Three power settings offer flexibility for different cooling and environmental needs, including quiet operation with the lowest setting. The fan travels easily from one room to the next with the use of the convenient carrying handle. For mounting the fan, hardware must be purchased separately. Use a dry soft cloth to clean the fan. Prior to use, review the thorough safety guidelines in the owner's manual. This item does not disassemble and is covered by a limited-five-year warranty. The fan measures 11-3/8 by 6-1/2 by 11-1/8 inches and weighs 4 pounds upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling

Whirrrrrrrrrrrr. Does its job, but is rather loud in doing it. The noise settles into a background hum, but if you're looking for a silent fan look elsewhere.

Great knives at a great value - stay sharp! I had purchased a set of 4 of these knives several years ago - and they were the only ones that I had owned that actually stayed sharp and did not separate from their handles. These are an excellent value - would recommend them to anyone!

Excellent Hoover FloorMate I absolutely love this FloorMate. I use it on my tile as well as my laminate floors and they have never been so clean. I particularly like the fact that I am not using a mop and having to dip into a bucket of dirty water. With the floor mate, it squirts clean water/cleaner and I am not just spreading around dirt on my floors. EXCELLENT PURCHASE!
Classical Gas is still a gas This rendition of this "classic" with Mannheim Steamroller is well done. However, most of the other songs are more Mannheim than Mason Williams. Since I like both, this is not a problem for me, but I wish there had been a little more classical guitar in it.
This is just great music greatly interpreted I remember what film made me look into classical music and what made my life different. It was the film "A CLockwork Orange". I remember hearing all the Beethoven sections and saying "Hey classical music is cool!!" I found this album in a similar manner. Instead of hearing this music in a film I read about it in Thomas Harris' novel "The Silence of the Lambs". Oh yes the film references the aria from the Goldberg Variations but not only is Glenn Gould's name left out of the film but also another famous piece of work that Dr. Hannibal loved dearly. The two and three part invention by Glenn Gould. Hannibal Lecter asks for this very piece of music specifically while he is hiding away in a fancy hotel. Well I ran out and purchased this recording and all I have to say is that this is probably a better overall set of music that the Goldbergs as far as I'm concerned. There's a playfulness and longing here that Gould absolutely nails. And yes his piano in this recording is indeed defective. Some of the notes "stick" occasionally. I'll honestly tell you that this sticky and awkward piano sound SOMEHOW matches the music and is quite fun to listen to. Don't hesitate to buy this great album.
One of the greatest Fritz Wunderlich sings with a truly marvelous voice and an impeccable diction. His short life (he died at age 36, however, certainly did not allow him to reach full musical maturity in some of his interpretations. His youthful voice suits the Beethoven songs the best-`Adelaide' stands among the best I have ever heard in recording. His version of Dichterliebe, although also extremely musical and equally moving, lacks of a bit of the detail and subtlety we find in, for example, the Fischer-Dieskau recordings-arguably among the best. We must consider that Wunderlich, contrary to Fischer Dieskau for instance, sings most of these pieces in its original key, which also makes the experience of listening to this CD one of the best ever. This recording gives me the impression that Wunderlich's voice would surpass any other Beethoven, Schubert or Schumann could have ever dreamt of!
Amazon.com essential videoDuring an unusual chapter in the career of director Akira Kurosawa (Rashomon), the filmmaker went to Russia because he found working in his native Japan to be too difficult. The result was this striking 1975 near-epic based on the turn-of-the-century autobiographical novels of a military explorer (Yuri Solomin) who met and befriended a Goldi man in Russia's unmapped forests. Kurosawa traces the evolution of a deep and abiding bond between the two men, one civilized in the usual sense, the other at home in the sub-zero Siberian woods. There's no question that Dersu Uzala (the film is named for the Goldi character, played by Maxim Munzuk) has the muscular, imaginative look of a large-canvas Soviet Mosfilm from the 1970s. But in its energy and insight it is absolutely Kurosawa, from its implicit fascination with the meeting of opposite worlds to certain moments of tranquility and visual splendor. But nothing looks like Kurosawa more than a magnificent action sequence in which the co-heroes fight against time and exhaustion to stay alive in a wicked snowstorm. For fans of the late legend, this is a Kurosawa not to be missed. --Tom Keogh

Not Kurosawa's best but still worthy You can sense Akira Kurosawa was not at his best during the filming of this movie, eventhough it is still a beautiful story that is well told. Acting was ok though it lacks the "connecting" intensity in the relationship between these two men who are supposed to be kindred spirits despite being from two very different worlds.
