Batting - Swinging for the fences with Major League Baseball 2K8 on Wii will provide fans with even more fun when they control the Wii Remote as if they were swinging a real bat. The Nunchuk acts to control the direction of the ball.
Fielding - While controlling their designated player using the Nunchuk, players can snag fly balls and use the Wii Remote to throw to the appropriate base. if anyone has trouble getting their wii to read the disc save yourself some of the headache that I endured - after returning the first disc of this game thinking it was defective since my wii never would read it and then trying a replacement and having it do the same thing I finally realized that my wii needed a system update in order to play - why it couldn't pop up a notification of that, I don't know. Once I updated my the wii's system firmware it read and played the disc just fine. Just thought I'd put this out there in case any one else is having the same problems.

great game the graphics are vastly improved over last year and the general game presentation is a lot better. Not a lot of improvements but if you're an avid sports gamer this title is worth picking up if not you'll probably be all right with last year's version.

Fun Arcade Title While It Lasts True Story: As I was playing MLB: The Show '07, I tried to load my 7-year career in "Road to the Show" just to find out that my data is corrupted!(Those of you who are reading this, I guess I should recommend that you should back-up your data every year while playing games like this, but that's another story.) Obviously peeved, I felt it woould be too much to go back and re-do the whole thing over again, so I decided to pick up this title for PSP. The Bigs is an arcade-style title for PSP that is fun, simple to control, great graphics game that emphasizes big hits, great plays and crushing homeruns. While it doesn't have as much realism as "MLB: The Show" series, it is still very much fun. Instead of "Road to the Show," there is basically a Rookie Challenge mode, where you build your own character, hit spring training, compete in a series of fun mini-games such as on-field obsticle course, fielding and hitting. After that, you earn points based on your performance and add attributes to your guy. Instead of traditional 9-inning games, the games are 5-innings. You go from city-to-city, completing tasks, such as, Hit a HR, come back from a 2-run defecit in the late innings, you even get a chance to steal players from other teams! The commentator often refers to you as "The Rook" whenever you come up to the plate and he always embelishes on how your team invested a lot into you and that you have to improve yourself. About a third way into the season, you will earn respect of your teamates and you will pick a nickname for yourself. Since that point, commentator will refer to you by that nickname. Later on, you will have to select your walk-up-to-the-plate theme and the coolest feature of all, pick a baseball bat that matches your attitude(your nation's flag, flames, skulls, even pink hearts hehe.)
Pros:
Simple batting and pitching controls
Great Graphics and video: the game enters into slow-motion whenever a fielder is trying to make a catch or an outstanding throw.
Great contact action: Whenever there is a play at the plate, there is a tug-o-war style graphic and you have to mash your X button in order to win a tug-o-war. If runner wins, he will steamroll the catcher. If catcher wins, he puts his shoulder down and runner bounces halfway to third for a loud OUT.
Cons:
Fielding and Running controls could use a tune. Very difficult and needs time to get used to.
Value- Once you beat the Rookie Challenge, you can probably start over and play in another league and see what challenges the other league(NL/AL) has to offer. After that, you have seen it all and I'm not sure if you'd play this game again. Unlike MLB: The Show, there is very little replay value here.
Bottom Line: If you are a baseball fan, you will love it...but not for a long time.

Best Basketball Game Ever!! NBA 2K9 on the PC is the best game ever. Before I had NBALive 08 for the PC and I thought that it was pretty good. However, after playing this game Live 08 is average.
This game has the great graphics since it is a Xbox 360 port, so it has the next-gen graphics! In addition, it has the features that the 360 version has like substituting on the fly, calling plays and team strategies. This game has pretty good commentary. The game has a realistic atmosphere. The crowd is nicely done since they cheer and react to the game.
There are many different modes. You can play a season, and playoff. Also, youcan play some games like the slam dunk contest, 3pt. shootout, 21, and pickup games which are games where you can play 1 on 1, 2 on 2, 3 on 3, 4 on 4, or 5 on 5. You get to pick the players you want on your team.
There is even a practice mode in which you can practice the different offensive plays like pick-n-rolls. There is even a free throw practice mode--something I wish NBA Live 08 had. There are many modes, so you will never get bored.
2k did the right thing putting out this game on the pc since easports decided not to make its game on the pc.
I highly recommend this game and at $20.00, you cannot go wrong! Everyone needs a copy of this game if you are a basketball fan. Buy it so that NBA 2K will continue to come out on the PC in future years.
Update: I was playing this game with the Logitech Dual Action gamepad and I thought it was good. I just got a wireless XBOX 360 controller for Windows and it so much more fun to play.
The Shot Stick is a very fun way to shoot since it can perform many different types of shots, layups and dunks based on the direction you put the Right Analog Stick. This increases the number of shots you can perform since each direction has a different move. In NBA Live, you can either press the shoot button or dunk/layup button and it will make a certain type of shot at random. With a shot stick, you have more control over the type of shot you would like.

Hoops 2K8!! This game is live. If you are a fan of the nba live/march madness chain then you will not be disappointed with this game. it has very detailed player faces, smooth gameplay, and of course lots of schools. if you know 2k sports you know they offer great sports games for around $20. this game was also released before march madness 08 by EA, which will be released in december. I havent even played nba 2k8, but this game is a keeper for me.
