Amazon.comThe traditional board game gets a fun new update in this interactive Disney DVD "Blue Ribbon Challenge" game that allows one to four players to choose a Disney dog character, spin, move around a virtual game board, answer trivia questions, scrutinize video clips, and play chance games right on their television sets. The three-dimensional game board features a virtual spinner; scenes from Oliver & Company, Mickey's Toon Town, Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmatians, and the Fox and the Hound; and everything from the classic ball under the moving cup trick to video clips from classic Disney dog movies. While there are two levels of play, even the easiest family level poses trivia questions that will prove difficult for children younger than 7 years or any player who hasn't seen virtually every Disney movie with a dog in the main character list. With over 1200 trivia questions and 15 different categories of game play, every game is a new game. Cynics might call this game just a glorified bonus feature that's missing the main presentation, but young gamers are more likely to call it the next generation in board games. --Tami Horiuchi

Fun but a little tough - but still fun! This is really neat. You can choose to play as several different Disney Dogs on this virtual board game. You use your DVD control to choose your dog and also to spin the spinner to see if you can move 1, 2, 3,4 spaces. You earn blue ribbons by answering dog questions that can be from any Disney movie with dogs. There are 2 ways you can play family or expert
(I think it's called). We've played the family and it's hard. And when you get an answer wrong it doesn't tell you the correct answer. It's a little frustrating for our 4 year old, but she does want to play and she knows to stay way from Sneaky Pete's square which makes you loose a ribbon or other squares you might loose a turn. It is a cute game and a must for those who love Disney Dog movies!
DescriptionSing, dance, and play along with your favorite Disney characters in this tune-filled SING-ALONG SONGS DVD. It's fun and easy as you read the on-screen lyrics and join the festivities. Invite your friends -- after all, it's even more fun when you share! Children as young as two will have a ball when Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy -- and other favorite Disney friends -- throw a party inside Disneyland's Haunted Mansion! There's plenty to do: pumpkin carving, bobbing for apples, cooking with Goofy -- even trick-or-treating in Toontown! But most of all, there'll be lots of singing and dancing to silly spooky songs of the season. So c'mon everybody, time to party!

Trick or treat in May or July, too! My two and 3 year olds used to be slightly afraid of the scary trees and wicked witch in this DVD, but now they totally love both! They'll watch this video all year long! It's more like one continuous story than most of the other singalongs I've seen. It takes place in the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland---there's a Halloween party there. The songs are very catchy and fun for all to sing!
All Access Pass It is sooooooooo cool. I could watch it a million timesand not get bored. The So Yesterday video is really cool and I love the behind the scenes. If you are a Hilary fan, it's a must!
Amazon.comDisney introduces a whole new kind of game with this interactive DVD game where children use their remote to play a virtual board game completewith spinner, game board, video clips, trivia questions, and interactive games. As newly crowned Princesses, players ages 5 to 8 are invited to enter an enchanted castle that features rooms inspired by Disney Princesses Ariel, Cinderella, Snow White, Mulan, Jasmine and Sleeping Beauty. One to four players take turns spinning the virtual spinner and moving through the castle's rooms where they answer trivia questions based on Disney Princess movies, play simple games, and encounter mystery spaces that often lead to hidden trap doors and secret slides. Correct answers and successful game play earn a Princess one of six items (invitation, carriage, gloves, shoes, dress, and tiara) that will prepare her to attend a royal ball. The first Princess who earns all the necessary items wins the game, but don't worry, all of the Princesses are invited to attend the ball at the end of the game. With over 250 different games, animations, activities, and trivia questions, players will likely experience a new game every time they play. A cynical parent might consider this game just an extended bonus feature without the accompanying video presentation, but young players are more likely to see it as an exciting new gaming medium. --Tami Horiuchi

Nice Game My 7 yr. old daughter got this for Christmas. She has really enjoyed it and asks to play it multiple times a day. You can have up to 4 players. I usually play with her. All you do is put the DVD in your DVD player, listen to the instructions and use your DVD remote control to play.
Educationally, there isn't much there. There is some luck involved and some skill involved at answering questions about the princess movies. There is trivia (answering questions about princess movies), reading lines from the movies correctly, guessing # of items shown game, dancing, and many "which princes or princess movie does this belong to" games. Also there are some suprises along the way...trapdoors, and villains, etc.
This has been a very enjoyable game and recommended for any girl that likes Disney princesses.
Amazon.comFirst, a caveat: this 88-minute nostalgic romp through Mickey Mouse Club history is not The Best of Britney, Justin & Christina, but rather a compilation of four complete MMC episodes from Season Six with only minor appearances (a few songs and hometown profiles) by the namesake superstars. While the title’s misrepresentation is disappointing (and suggests some exploitive marketing by Disney), the DVD, nonetheless, oozes with talent from the cast of all 20 mouseketeers, including lesser-known stars who were hugely popular during the show’s run (‘89-’94) such as Keri Russell, JC Chasez, and Ryan Gosling. These particular episodes were selected because they happen to include two-minute profiles of Britney Spears, who takes viewers back to her hometown in Louisiana; Justin Timberlake, as he impersonates Elvis at Graceland; and Christina Aguilera who bakes brownies and shows viewers a scrapbook of her childhood. Two live concert performances spotlight Aguilera belting, "I Have Nothing," and a song and dance routine with Spears and Timberlake singing, "I Feel for You." Other program highlights include the cheesy but engaging game show, "Everybody’s a Winner," and a hilarious series of skits with Russell. A segment on teen suicide and depression was an odd choice to include in this otherwise upbeat program. Fans can keep their fingers crossed that Disney will release each MMC season in its entirety on DVD, named accordingly. (Ages 8 to 14) --Lynn Gibson

Amazon.comThe Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds live concert was a sold-out sensation everywhere it played, and this concert video is the next best thing to being there for all the fans that couldn't get tickets to attend the concert in person. The movie opens with Miley Cyrus backstage in make-up and hair, warming up with vocal exercises, then cuts to Hannah Montana (her alter ego)'s performance of "Rock Star," and then back in time to four weeks before her performance when concert rehearsals were just beginning. It runs like a backstage special feature for a while, following Hannah Montana through coaching, choreography scenes with Kenny Ortega, and rehearsal sessions. Then it's back to concert footage from opening night in St. Louis and all along the tour, seasoned here and there with some fun looks at the concerts' special effects, quick costume changes, other logistical challenges (Hannah gets dropped during a routine early in the tour), and lots of shots of the enthusiastic, mostly female 'tween audiences. The 3D format gives the audience a nice sense of being there and includes some effective, if somewhat overused shots of the crowd waving, Hannah/Miley reaching out to the audience, and fun stunts like the drummer's twirling stick thrown high in the air and the guitar player's pick being tossed out into the audience. The sound is adequate, but fails to replicate the live concert experience (the plus side is that the audience's ears won't be ringing for hours after the performance). Hannah Montana's performance includes "Rock Star," "Life's What You Make It," "Just Like You," "Nobody's Perfect," and "We Got the Party." The Jonas Brothers perform "When You Look Me In the Eyes" and "Year 3000," and then Miley hits the stage with "Start All Over," "I Got Nerve," "I Miss You" (which Miley wrote in honor of her Granddad's passing), "Going Away," "GNO: Girl's Night Out," and "The Best of Both Worlds." This 3D concert presentation truly is the "best of both worlds," a 3D concert experience with easy availability and minimal expense. Better yet is the message that girls can do anything they want if they put their minds and hearts to it. (Ages 7 and older) --Tami Horiuchi
