Great Disney Family Film I just recently bought a copy of this movie @ a video rental store that was going out of business.
I popped it into the VCR thinking that it was going to be one of those regular old Disney films like A Tiger Walks. I was surprised it is one of the best early Disney films that i have ever seen. It is about a group of poor french children who have a toy horse that they love dearly. Well one day the head falls off why they are playing with it and they have the kindly fixer fix it for them. But they don't know that there was a key that they put in the head. Well a group of crooks had just stolen 400,000 pounds from the French bank. And that key was the key to the warehouse where the Money is in. Well the crooks will do anything to get that key back. Even commit Murder! Well the kids save the day as they do in all of the Disney films. And the crooks are taken off to jail. Great Disney film.

Great encouragement for all those who wish to pursue a career in music to persevere. (7 and up)

Swing low, make it awful. I rented this movie just because it was a new release and there wasn't much to choose from that day. I wish I hadn't. I've seen a lot of bad movies in my day, and this is certainly one of the worst ever. I got the feeling it was supposed to be a comedy, except, it wasn't funny at all. Terrible script, bad acting. Rent this movie, and you will regret it.

There should be a law... that says if the movie in the box doesn't meet the hype on the box, you should be able to return it. It says on the box it's in the same vein as "Fast and Furious". Don't you believe it! This movie is poorly acted,poorly filmed, and poorly conceived! I would give it no stars if that were possible. I plan on putting this one out in the local flea market and see if I can at least get back a buck or two on it.
GREAT STORY AND CAST! A CLASSIC! I first saw this movie several years ago and continue to watch it from time to time as the story is a timeless one of courage and spirit that keeps one going. The characters very realistic and so is the story of a young girl that returns to England after being sent away during WW II for 5 or 6 years, and is hit by culture shock and the old world class system. Hayley Carr is excellent as Rusty (why hasn't she done anything since?) and Hayley Mills is excellent as her mother. I like Birdie's character, too, who is a buffer between Rusty and her family when she first returns. WHY ISN'T THIS MOVIE ON DVD???? I justcan't understand why any movie that is already on VHS isn't automatically made into a DVD? I'd love to buy this on DVD.
