Hand Gestures and New Gimmicks Although loaded all the familiar mat mashing DDR fun, in utilizing the motion sensing capabilities of the Wii Remote, DanceDanceRevolution Hottest Party 2 also brings new moves to the floor in the form of Hand Gestures and Gimmicks. Hand gestures require players to keep time to the rhythm of songs, beyond the step pattern they dance to, by shaking the Wii Remote or Nunchuck. In effect this adds a third dimension to the traditional front to back/side to side gameplay, resulting in an even more full-body experience. In addition, if players so choose they can also up their difficulty level through Gimmicks. Through these players can briefly alter the game's UI--for example delaying the appearance of on-screen arrows--forcing them to rely on their rhythm instead of screen prompts and in the process pick up major bonuses. so much fun I bought this for the family to play during the Christmas break. Everyone played and cheered each other on. The ages ranged from 3-60. The 3 year old just liked to dance to the music vs. following the directions. It was such a blast and a great work out. I would definitely recommend it.

Dance for Exercise I bought this for my 10 year old grandaughter's birthday. They already had the first version and suggested this as her birthday present. Now she and her mother can dance away, laughing, having such fun together while exercising. I love giving a present that is used and not wasted and to give someone fun and an opportunity to just be together in that way.

Great Game, Great Buy! I've always been a fan of DDR and so when I bought my xbox 360 I knew I just had to have this. This is a great game especially for people who want to not have to pay for a gym membership. I would definitely recommend this to any fan of DanceDanceRevolution.

Dance Dance Revolution Party Bundle I bought this for my 13 year old son who loves to dance. We tried it at a party and it was a hit. It is hard to follow at times, but the songs are great and the kids love it. Turn off the boos though!

A Standard Review forDance Dance Revolution Flash Pad For some reason, with the email demands being made by Amazon.com, I feel the need to clarify the star ratings I have given to the Dance Dance Revolution Flash Pad, even though I simply wanted to drop by, leave a star rating, and continue onto something else.
Anyway, onto clarification.
The toy, from what I have seen, brings about much enjoyment, but nothing revolutionary.
There's a lot of jumping around and the memorizing of techno pop songs, however none of these songs contain math problems or history lessons. Yet, there must be something said for the hand to eye... or rather eye to foot coordination going on.
The toys purpose is to be jumped around on, therefore it is probably made to withstand this. I don't want to sound cynical, but the business side of me asks, "for how long."
Overall, the toy did what it was intended to do, provide hours of ludicrous fun dancing and jumping around.
On a further note, it was a gift for a college graduate, so I wasn't too concerned with its educational impact.

The worse songs in the universe So I played DDR on Wii and thought, hey, what about buying it for my xbox? It's the same thing, right?
Wrong. The Xbox 360 DDRs are the worse pieces of musical tunes you'll ever hear. Where the Wii had a bunch of hits you can hear off the radio (kelly clarkson, the killers, etc), this version for XBOX has NONE. You know, the famous bands you saw on the back of the box? Well, that's the only bands you'll know. The rest are bad songs made by the programmers of the game. And they should've stuck to programming.
Imagine yourself back in the 90s, with loud beats and screechy voices. Now, but a twist of powerade colors in the background, and you've got this game. Lame. Totally lame.
Also beware: 99% of stores will not let you return this $70-90 purchase because it has a game in it. So you're out the pad AND the game if you hate it, which I did.

Great Fun - Check the Song Listing DDRMax 2 is part of the Dance Dance Revolution series. For those new to the DDR series, you play by dancing around on a mat, hitting the buttons with your feet. It is quite a workout, and quite fun too!
The songs start out with easy footwork and build their way up to almost impossible. Along the way you build up energy, leg muscles, and burn off calories. They do even have a workout mode where you can track it - but I enjoy just diving into the game. You find yourself playing long after your legs are tired because it's so much fun.
While you can think about the videos that play being the music, really all you see when you're dancing is the stream of arrows that you're supposed to be following. I've found that while graphics vary from game to game, all I really care about is what songs are included.
This set is a mixed bag for me. Some of the DDR games have no songs at all I really enjoy. This one has a few. Now it's important to keep in mind that a song list preference is VERY personal! You might hate the songs I love. You might love the songs I hate! So it's key not to go by what I (or anyone else) says about a given song list. It's important that you look at the actual song list and choose a DDR game that matches your preferences well.
So that being said, there are perhaps 5 or 6 songs in this set that I enjoy. But the footwork on some of them is REALLY cool and I enjoy them a lot. So to me it's well worth it to have the game and play with those. Heck, think of it as having a CD that you love a bunch of songs on. Sure, you like other songs too - and you have other CDs.

A fun game, but nothing new. Being a fan of DDR SuperNova, I decided to purchase the sequel. SuperNova 2 is basically the same as its predesesor. It does contain some new and fun songs. However the format is very similar. You have to play your way through the game at the levels the cpu deems fit. It's annoying at first, because people who have the acquired skills are forced to do songs on easy or beginner. It does progress to more intense challenges though. I would say this game isa lot of fun b/c I love to DDR. If you are debating whether to get the first Supernova or the Second, I'd go with the first one.
On to the seller. Well, the game arrived within two weeks. The only thing I have to complain about is the fact that the game did not come in the original container with the SuperNova 2 graphics. It came in a plain black container. It did have the game's manual.

Good for newbies, not for DDR masters This game is clearly aimed at introducing younger kids to DDR. Its Disney theme and overly-cute look will draw in Disney Channel fans who are new to DDR, but hardcore arrow-stompers (like yours truly) may get bored quickly.
< >This game was developed by Keen Games, not Konami. There are a lot of little quirks that may frustrate experienced players, but won't bother newbies. Among them are: grading based on stars instead of letters, Marvelous steps being weighed much heavier than Perfects, arrow colors not reflecting their timing well, and songs swapping jarringly between the song selected and a "background" song during song and option selection.
The songs are not bad. The steps were created by Konami, and there are some surprisingly fun stepcharts for the Disney Channel songs. The Konami songs are mostly repeats from earlier games. As for the Disney Channel songs, whether you like those is purely a matter of taste.
I have several major complaints with the game. One, the background videos for the Konami songs are simply awful. The faces in "Candy" are distracting; a person's eyes tend to snap to a face when it appears. The video for "Brilliant 2U" is such a dreadful whirl of color and motion that the song is nearly undanceable! Why in the world did they replace the original Konami videos? I recommend turning the brightness way down on background videos, or turning them off altogether. Much worse, though, is the fact this game supposedly has 40 songs, but for practical purposes there are only 37. According to Keen Games, the only way to unlock the final three songs is to get a full Marvelous combo on each of the first three levels. That's all but impossible even for DDR champions - as of this writing I have seen no postings on any of the major DDR boards saying that anyone has managed it yet - but somehow the target audience is supposed to be able to manage it? Shame on them for not giving those songs a timed unlock as a fallback option.
