Excellent Remake of an old classic! I used to play the Dragon Warrior games on the NES when I was a child, including the old Dragon Warrior IV. This remake is a loyal re-release of the old classic, but with many changes to the graphics and elements of the game have been tweaked to update it, including a new sixth chapter!
Some name changes have been made to characters, spells, and monsters that I haven't been terribly thrilled by, and it is a little short compared to modern RPG's, but still well worth it on a system that is idea for Role Playing Games.
Blue Dragon is an epic role-playing game that centers on a young boy named Shu and several of his friends. These unlikely heroes possess the power to control phantom shadows that mirror the actions of their masters, giving Shu and his comrades miraculous strength and magical powers. The warriors can create and develop their combat styles by utilizing different types of Shadow Change, including Sword, Assassin, and Power Magic. Shu and his friends must use the shadows as weapons and wield their skills to save their world from impending doom. Encountering various people on a planet where numerous ancient ruins remain, the characters and their shadows travel through a world full of mysteries and illusions, where the slightest touch can cause reactions of unparalleled magnitude.

The DS sequel is set one year after the original Xbox 360 title and returns players to the story of Shu and his companions, who control powerful phantom shadows. In the DS title, they will have to deal with new enemies spawned from the devastation wrought in the first title. At first glance, you might mistakenly believe Blue Dragon Plus to be a strategy game in the style of Final Fantasy Tactics, with little hand-drawn heroes and monsters arranged on an isometric 3D stage. But once the fight begins, everything starts happening in real time and you must feverishly put together your plan of attack, because those enemies aren't waiting for your turn. You command your units around the field with quick but simple controls that rely totally on the touch screen. You tell your units where to go, who to fight, when to heal, and when to move to special areas on the map. It seems like your attention is constantly needed everywhere at once, but the game gives you some room for error by providing a high number of healing items. Also, as you progress through each map, the game occasionally pauses to let some part of the story play out. The game will feature a thirty-hour quest as well as the ability to control up to sixteen humans and Mecha Robos in real-time battles and shadow fights.
Third time is the charm After a couple of dull PS2 iterations, spyro 3rd time is well polished. They have taken their time to get the game right. It is not going to break any new grounds, but it is a fun game. It is very straight forward, fit for all ages. The gameplay is very simple old school platformer. With all the big 08 holiday releases this one went under the radar. Pick it up you wont regret it. Good addition to you Wii library.

Hate the new Spyro Game They have really gotten away from the fun game I started playing years ago. It's turned into some horrible war game that has way too much fighting. What has happened to Sparks?? Does he not help out or is he just a side kick with a lame attempt at humor throughout the game. The game is so dark now, I hate it. My son was playing the game and says that there are scenes taken directly from Gods of War. What a shame. If this is the future of this game, I will consider it my last. Save your money. Does everything, games, have to be about war???
Best of the budokai series! "litterally" I got this game the day it came out, and even sold my original Budokai 3 and Tenkaichi 3 for it. And i'd have to say it was worth it. On the back of the box it says "The Best of the Budokai Series"....it is! I loved the original Budokai 3 and played it for 2 years straight never getting tired of it. And thisgame is pretty much that game with added bonuses such as mini games and Tenkaichi quality cut scenes which are pretty good. Infinite World uses the same capsule skill system as past dbz games where you can purchase your skills, characters, stages, and etc.
The fighting system is the pretty much the same as Budokai 3, not the over-the-shoulder system used in the Tenkaichi series. So 2 players would NOT use split screen which i prefer cause that just got annoying. Everyone that i've played with so far has their own ultimate moves which most the time have animations with them which is fun to watch. I haven't got to play with every character yet cause i haven't earned or bought them yet, but according to the box there are over 40 characters. One major thing that is different from the rest of the budokai series is that you are able to perform your ultimate without going into hyper mode, which makes ultimates more consistent to pull off during a fight.
The music in the game is one of the reasons that i gave the game a 4 star rating, its just kinda annoying and repetitive to me. I usually just go to the options menu and turn off the music. Another reason for the 4 star rating would be the beginning publisher screens that you can't just skip through when you first turn the game on. There are like 6 screens, its just annoying to me.
The mini games are the main difference in this game. I haven't played them all yet, but the ones I have played were very entertaining. These are only found in story mode. My personal favorite so far would have to be trying to catch Bubbles (king kai's monkey) on King Kai's really small planet. It is not as easy as it looks, trust me, the monkey is always throwing bananas at you, lol. Another example of a mini game is running along snake sway (very easy to fall off) with limited time.
Overall, its a great game to add to the DBZ series, and a good finisher for DBZ games on PS2 (actually not really sure if it is). Basically if you liked playing Budokai 3 and just love the DBZ series, then this game will be good for you. Even though I'm not finished with it, I love it already.

It Locks Up and Shots down the PSP I have been waiting so long for a patch for this game, i guess i will have to take it back to amazon and get something else, I liked the game it was an old test of d&d but it locks up when i fight the 4 flying angels. EVERY time. I am stuck there and it shuts the machine right off. anyone else do this? There are no scratches.i wonder if the game disk is just bad or is it the game in genral? I never find anyone else online either
