REVIEW
Greatest PC game ever made I love PQ1-Police Quest: Open Season. After Open Season it got bad. Daryl Gates's Open Season was eary and very tough, I needed the hint book. The only problem I have with this compilation is PQ1. I hated the VGA version (remake) and hoped both EGA and VGA were on the cd's. Unfortunatly EGA was left out. Similar to Leisure Suit Larry 1. I was very disapointed with both remakes of PQ1 and Leisure Suit Larry 1.
Police Quest 1 dealt with the Death Angel Jesse Baines. You are Sonny Bonds regular police officer patrolling the streets until you get promoted to detective and try to track down the death angel. The ending was great and one of a kind. The hotel was the final (would of been the final meeting with Baines) part of the game. After you play poker for alittle while, you recognize Baines across from you and when you go back up to his hotel suite LOOK OUT!. Police Quest 2 had a different take on PQ1. You are thrown once again into the Death Angels clutches when Baines escapes jail and swore his revenge on Sonny Bonds, The classic writing to issue a command was great. The ending was terrific where you had to difuse a bomb as well as meet Baines again in a different city.PQ3 was also oe of my favorites. The graphics were much improved and you again were Sonny Bonds but your true love Marie (who you met in PQ1 but Sonny knew her before that) was stabbed by a visious gang (part of an occult). From patrolling the streets to becoming detective, Sonny is once again seeking all the answers and trying to stay calm and hope Marie recoperates after getting stabbed and left in critical condition. PQ 4 Open Season takes you out of Lytton as well as Sonny Bonds's shoes and into a detective who works in Los Angeles. This one is very ear, gorry (back in those times), and took you to different places. Once the PQ series switched to SWAt it was terrible, Jim Walls, please come back! If Police Quest was resurrected now the graphics and gameplay would be amazing. Imagine sitting on the highway with a radar gun pulling over people, respondonding to a bank robbery ect...

The most fun of the "Caesar" games A combination of Caesar III, Sid Miers Civilizations and Maxis' Sim City games from the late nineties, Pharaoh takes a lot of what made those games best sellers and combines it into a pretty entertaining, if at this point dated, game. Back in the 90s, "God" style games in which you care for and manage a teeming world of buildings and their denizens were having their hay-day.
While Maxis continued to churn out the Sim City franchise, and Civilizations and it's many spin offs have become legend, most games are not either FPS (First Person Shooters) or RTS (Real Time Strategy). The 90s produced some exceptional top-down city management games, and Pharaoh is a good example. Unfortunately, just like the Egyptian empire that you play in the game, poised at its height of glory, this style of game has fallen largely to the wayside. That's unfortunate.
A city management game at heart, Pharaoh gives you much more control over what you build and where you build it than Sim City games. You choose which buildings you want, and where they will be built, allowing you to create a city to your exact design.
War making does come into play, but it is secondary to city building. Many of the missions will require you to create an army and lead them to victory, but this feels largely anticlimactic compared to the fast paced city management that requires 80 percent of your time.
This game is quite complex, entertaining, and truly a classic of the genre. If you're considering buying it, there are other options like Caeser III, but I think this is a superior game. If you like strategy games from the 90s, this ones definitely for you.

that's a go, Wilco! you must have DOS Box to play, it comes with it. I recommend downloading the latest version and getting better sound out of the games! GM or Roland support in 7.2 the current as of this writting. You need to take a bit of time read that tutorial of theres to get anything done with it! The games themselves are five aces all the way. The fact it doesn't play in XP is MS's fault. Great space parody of movies across the board from mainly Star Trek(prominent in Space Quest V Next Mutation-odvious title and in jokes to boot) Also in jokes here and there from Star Wars, Buck Rogers(In the Twenty Fith century), Flash gordon, and some less known movies that were total crap anyway. Also pun jokes of badly written video games true gamers would be able to relate to that humor as why a store you visit is drawn too cheaply becasue the "writers of the game" as Roger put it "Were to CHEAP to implenmet better graphics!" MS jokes are also, belevie it or not, thrown in. Surprisng as DOS is an A+ system! Love the narrator's voice(Roger Ramjet guy!) in IV, VI. The six games I played/dreamed of since H.S back in the 80's. Much like King's Quest, Police Quest, QUest for Glory(hero's QUest) but rediculously funny instead of using logic you use Roger Wilco "logic" To solve a puzzle. Juvenile delinquency and childish pranks gets you more than professionalism. Your trusty toilet plunger and a few buckazoids is all it takes! Great game for the adult in you and the child in you too!

The Great Early Years Of Sierra Inc. Long Gone I'm sure many people remember when the first Kings Quest came out in 1984 from Sierra Inc and grew up loving this series forever after. The first game started as you played a knight trying to win the throne of a kingdom and you did this by doing certain quest to return the treasures of the kingdom. The second game was now that you became king you have to have a queen and you see one in a far away place thus you begin your quest to find your future queen. The third game had you play a beaten orphan servant boy to an evil wizard and the quest was to free yourself from the wizard and find your true family. The fourth quest had you play the daughter of the king from the first two games the quest an this adventure is to save the life of the ailing king. The fifth game had you play the king of the first two games the adventure this time was to save your family from a n evil wizard out to avenge his brother for what the king's son did to him in the third game this was first kings quest that had voice actors but sadly they weren't that good. The sixth game had you playing the kings son from the third game this time it's the son looking for a wife and like his father finds one an a far away place being held captive the quest is to free your future bride and set free her homeland from the evil vizard this game also had voice actors but this time professional ones that did a very good job. The last of the true kings quest game had you play the daughter of the king from the fourth game this quest had you trying to escape from a attempted marriage and trying to find what you truly wished to do with your life this game also had great voice actors for the characters but this game also just made use of the mouse controller with a more point and click action rather than typing in commands like the previous four games. To those who have gotten use to the new games don't expect great graphics in the first four games as these were made in 256 colors at best the graphics aren't bad but again if your use to todays Pc games you won't care to much for these games. The audio as well won't probably be up to par with today pc gamers as the first five games use midi music instead of wav audio music again the sounds and music aren't bad but don't expect the audio music quality like todays games. To this box set for the price though I say to all people who played these games as kids growing up get this right away and remember fondly the bygone days of Sierra Inc. and how we played the pc games...
