REVIEW
Surprisingly just okay I'll admit right off the bat that I'm new to the Soul Calibur series. This is the first one I've played. That being said, I am no stranger to fighting games. When I read about SC4 it sounded like it had so much promise. What I got seemed kind of just okay. There are really four things going for SC4: 1)Terrific graphics, 2)Large number of characters, 3)Customized Equipment, and 4) Customized Characters. Number three is the stand out of the game. Through purchase and acquisition there are a huge number of equipment and weapon pieces availble in the game. They let you give your players a very respectible range of abilities. Couple that with the ability to customize your own character down to their facial features and you get something really great and unexpected in a fighting game. But all this seems like window dressing. It's all very pretty but feels of little substance. The game play is repetitive and the story is really non-existent. There's nothing that pulls you into the game. It really seems to be an almost XBox Live geared release. That's where the fun is had. But strangely the single player game takes up most of the space and feels dull. $60? No. If it was a $20 Xbox Live download I'd be all over it. My recommendation? Save your dough.

REVIEW
Soul Calibur IVis still a great game. I have played Soul Calibur 1-4. This is a great fighting game, but mainly for multiplayer action. The story itself is way too short and I wished it would have been longer and more meaningful. Actually I would not consider this a story, it is almost like SC3 but with a new boss.
Challenges are great when you fight multiple character's(1 at a time) before you can progress.
A highly improved character creation and weapons upgrade, far exceeding SC3. Each piece of costume and acessories has it's pros and cons of adding it to your character, so you must balance your characer the best you can.
The tower is the most challenging part of this game, it can get very difficult as you progress.
I recommend buying this game for any Soul Calibur fan out there. It may not be the original many have loved on the Dreamcast, but it is still something you will enjoy on the PS3
Newcomers to the Soul Calibur franchise may not feel up to par with this game, but its a definate rental for you guys.

REVIEW
Very fun game This game is very polished and balanced, and I think fans of fighting games as well as casual gamers can enjoy it. Novice and expert fighters seem to have close battles more often, unlike Dead or Alive where experts always clobber novices, or the opposite end in Smash Bros. where the battles can be very random. Also you can make your own character and the online mode is pretty good, but not amazing. There's no online tag team and it's one-on-one fights only, but at least you can spectate when it's not your turn and there's not a lot of lag. Unlocking things like new weapons, characters, stages, and clothes is very rewarding.
The graphics deserve special mention. They're probably the best I've seen in a video game ever, with emotive and nuanced facial animation, antialiasing, blur, heat effects, and 1080p running at 60 fps. If you have an HDTV, this game will surely impress. The sound isn't nearly as amazing but there are some catchy songs in the soundtrack and the voice overs and weapon effects are decent. Yoda and the Apprentice are cheap, but beatable and it didn't seem as important as many other reviewers said it was.

REVIEW
A classic fighter with tons of replay value. I can recommend this game for the character customization aspect alone, but it doesn't hurt that the fighting engine plays just as seamlessly as it did when the first Soul Calibur was released. If you're a fan of fighting games at all, you owe it to yourself to get this game. The only gripe is the lackluster story mode and lack of online tag team, but I'm willing to overlook those shortcomings in light of such brilliant gameplay, gorgeous visuals, and engaging customizations.

Great Fighting Stick I am extremely happy with my purchase. I love fighting games and finally having an arcade quality stick really enhances the experience. Pulling off moves is a snap with the extremely accurate stick. The buttons are the perfect size and are layed out very well.
I would recommend this product to anyone who really enjoys fighting games on the 360.

Great for star wars lovers and gamers Great game. Challenging and very entertaining. I recommend reading some of the on-line material about the game before playing it, where you can find great hints about force upgrades...etc. Star wars fans will love this game. I tried the Jedi Temple add-on on this game, which can be downloaded from the Marketplace using an XBOX LIVE account, I loved it so much.

REVIEW
Fun, but too much repetitive frustration. I know there are a lot of gamers out there who really get into the whole puzzle and menial task aspect of the hobby, but I am not one of them. I like to actually play my games. I dislike having to go through the frustration of figuring out how to get from one place to another, or how to unlock things to allow the story to progress. A little bit of that can be fun, but in the case of this game it makes it almost too annoying to continue playing.
And this why: many times when you die, you get set back so far in the play that you sometimes even have to sit through the same mini cut scenes every time you move to the set off points. What's worse, you often have to re-kill several of the larger enemies. Eventually this sort of thing brought me to the point of deciding the game was no longer fun. There are only so many times that I will want to repeat the same tasks before realizing I have far better things to do with my so called life. Just wait until you get to the Death Star level - this is where if ever you shoulddie, (which likely you will) after having sat through Juno telling you what to do, defeating two AT STs, two purge troopers, several peons, and Imperial Royal Guards - after having played around on the gravity beams - you will have to repeat this again and again any time you die in the frustration of trying to figure out just where you're supposed to be going.
I'm sorry but being set so far back really makes you realize what a waste of time it is to be playing video games in the first place.
So what had started off as great fun and classic beat 'em up gameplay quickly degenerates into frustrating repetition and the growing realization that you should be finding far more important things to do with your precious time.
Too bad though. This would have been a fun game if only it had more action and less repetition and fewer annoying "puzzles" that must be repeated almost after every time you die. Moral of the story: don't ever, ever, ever die in this game unless you enjoy having a sort of Groundhog Day effect upon your life as you sit idly in front of a TV wasting away.
