REVIEW
Somewhat fun, but is lacking I bought this mainly for the multiplayer feature and was sorely dissapointed. The main game itself is fun, the wii controllers work great together for force powers and lightsaber, and the story doesn't go against the movies/books (the first time through anyhow). Progression through the single player mode unlocks playable characters in multiplayer. The single player mode is fast, which is its major downfall, as the camera controls are weak. You have to wait a few seconds for the camera to catch up to your direction, and although the wii remote does allow for manual camera movement, itsnot what i want to be dealing with in the middle of mass combat.
The multiplayer mode had a serious lack of decent characters to choose from, as most have the same stats and a third of them are the character from the main game, in different outfits and slightly different stats. The maps are the worst part as the players are locked in the camera view and can only move a certain distance away from each other before becoming stuck. With the exception of 1 or 2 maps, the majority are cluttered with obsticals that you can get stuck in. Its also dissapointing how easy it is to get out of a force grab, whereas lightning can be deadly if your controller is not held at the exact angle needed to deflect.
Overall, it had a lot of potential, the main game was decent and the controls were great, but the multiplayer (which was supposed to be the main selling point on the wii as the other versions have much better graphics) was done poorly.

Great for star wars lovers and gamers Great game. Challenging and very entertaining. I recommend reading some of the on-line material about the game before playing it, where you can find great hints about force upgrades...etc. Star wars fans will love this game. I tried the Jedi Temple add-on on this game, which can be downloaded from the Marketplace using an XBOX LIVE account, I loved it so much.

A Long, Long Time Ago....but a Short, Short Game "The Force Unleashed" is a linear action PS2 game that is entertaining and is overall enjoyable. Set between the two trilogies, the main character, a secret apprentice studying under Darth Vader, is a pawn in the internal battle between Vader and the Emperor and his actions will shape the Star Wars universe. The graphics are excellent and the plot, if not gripping, is solid. The secondary characters are well fleshed out and the soundtrack and score are pleasant. But there are problems. The gameplay is limited and the controls and camerawork need improvement. The game is too linear and does not allow the player that much freedom to explore the Star Wars universe. The chief problem is how quickly the game can be played. This game ca be beaten in 10-12 hours (and that is a conservative estimate). This seems odd to say the least especially in this day and age and is the chief flaw of the game.

REVIEW
Fun, but too much repetitive frustration. I know there are a lot of gamers out there who really get into the whole puzzle and menial task aspect of the hobby, but I am not one of them. I like to actually play my games. I dislike having to go through the frustration of figuring out how to get from one place to another, or how to unlock things to allow the story to progress. A little bit of that can be fun, but in the case of this game it makes it almost too annoying to continue playing.
And this why: many times when you die, you get set back so far in the play that you sometimes even have to sit through the same mini cut scenes every time you move to the set off points. What's worse, you often have to re-kill several of the larger enemies. Eventually this sort of thing brought me to the point of deciding the game was no longer fun. There are only so many times that I will want to repeat the same tasks before realizing I have far better things to do with my so called life. Justwait until you get to the Death Star level - this is where if ever you should die, (which likely you will) after having sat through Juno telling you what to do, defeating two AT STs, two purge troopers, several peons, and Imperial Royal Guards - after having played around on the gravity beams - you will have to repeat this again and again any time you die in the frustration of trying to figure out just where you're supposed to be going.
I'm sorry but being set so far back really makes you realize what a waste of time it is to be playing video games in the first place.
So what had started off as great fun and classic beat 'em up gameplay quickly degenerates into frustrating repetition and the growing realization that you should be finding far more important things to do with your precious time.
Too bad though. This would have been a fun game if only it had more action and less repetition and fewer annoying "puzzles" that must be repeated almost after every time you die. Moral of the story: don't ever, ever, ever die in this game unless you enjoy having a sort of Groundhog Day effect upon your life as yousit idly in front of a TV wasting away.
You are the "Secret Apprentice" to Darth Vader in Star Wars -The Force Unleashed. You'll helphim in his villainous quest to rid the universe of Jedi. You will hunt the Jedis across the galaxy, from the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk to the junkyard planet Raxus Prime and the mushroom-covered Felucia. You will be aided by your loyal sidekick PROXY - a prototype holodroid with amazing abilities, and a beautiful Imperial pilot named Juno Eclipse. You will clash with powerful Force wielders, including the spirited Zabrak warrior Maris Brood, and General Rahm Kota, a hard-boiled Jedi soldier who senses that you are destined to become something far greater than just Darth Vader's servant. New revelations about the Star Wars galaxy are unveiled in this expansive story, created under direction from George Lucas. It is set during the era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.

Could have been better! Could have been better, then I suppose most games would fall under that category! Its a good star wars themed combat game with enough variety to keep you interested. Probably not one you would play all the way through a second time however. But every star wars nut should at least take a look.

CAMERA LACKS. OVERALL, GREAT GAME I can honestly say the camera is my biggest beef. Other than, that I think it is great - Crisis Core and Chains of Olympus in one.
I believe the Star Wars franchise has been milked enough. It is through games like Force Unleashed that it will continue live on.
Another reason I like FUL, is you can use force powers. Also, this game would have been great if it had the CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE feel to it, meaning you decide at certain points the out come of the game for unlimited endings.
This is Star Wars. Take advantage of the video game universe.
There are still a lot of unanswered questions - LIKE THE WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, AND WHY OF THE TRUE ORIGIN OF "THE FORCE" ITSELF, NOT THE ONES WHO HAS AND USES IT.
I hope CRISIS CORE, CHAINS OF OLYMPUS, AND FORCE UNLEASHED GIVES THE "FFVII REMAKE" SOME INSPIRATION.
The Star Wars saga continues! The Force Unleashed: Art of the Game chronicles the four-year development of the anxiously awaited, action-packed video game (releasing April 2008) developed by LucasArts from conception to completion. The book reveals innovative game design concept and images, three-dimensional renders, and behind-the-scenes photos. The Force Unleashed game casts players as Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" and promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. The expansive story, created under direction from George Lucas, is set during the unexplored era between Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The game re-imagines the scope and scale of the Force by taking full advantage of new technologies that will be seen and experienced for the first time, such as Digital Molecular Matter (DMM) by Pixelux Entertainment and euphoria by NaturalMotion Ltd., paired with the powerful Havok Physics (TM) system. These new technologies create gameplay only possible on the new generation of consiles. DMM incorporates the physical properties of objects in the environment so that every element reacts exactly as it should--wood breaks like wood, glass shatters like glass, Felucian plants bend in their unique way, and more. Meanwhile, as a revolutionary behavioral-simulation engine, euphoria enables interactive characters to move, act, and even think like actual human beings, adapting their behavior and resulting in a different response every single time. Well before its release, The Force Unleashed game is already buzzing on blogs and gamer websites, at gamer conferences, and among Star Wars fans. LucasArts is fully backing the promotion of the game to the tens of millions of Star Wars fans around the world.

Choked Full With Art and Insights Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2GX6YMYRUK8Q2 The Art and Making of Star Wars Force Unleashed brings you behind the scenes into the game development process, while staying close to artists' drawing boards.
This book is choked full with breathtaking concept art, character designs, diary entries and screenshots from the game. It features over 300 pieces of art work in 168 pages. On two pages are pasted paper pockets, with each containing 5 character cards.
If you've owned the "art of" series for the Star Wars movies, expect the same high quality environment paintings. But this one goes up one notch with beautiful page layouts. It's the art magazine type of layout, so the every page design is essentially art in itself. Great effort from the book designers.
The 6 chapters in the book explains the game creation process in depth. That's from the development of a concept, to the pitch and approval stage, next to character studies, then environment and finally the technology behind.
There are lots of nitty gritty details that you won't read on Internet interviews. The authors bring you to the cutting floor and let you read all about the discarded ideas.
After reading the book, you'll literally feel like you've worked with these people (most probably as an intern).
For Star Wars fans, you have no reasons not to get this book. For people interested in concept design and animation, this book has lots of insight for you. This book is a great source of inspiration.
Be careful of the binding though. The part where the cover meets page 1 seems like they will come apart in the future. Easily fixed by pasting some clear tape to fix the problem before it develops.

Disappointed...doesn't register swinging action Though ascetically these are very cool, you are limited to the uses & interaction w/ the game. With the controls attached, you can use the buttons, but...
it doesn't register when you physically swing the saber.
The whole point of purchasing these was to play Clone Wars Light Saber Duels. With the remote plugged into the saber, all you can do is run around, glow w/ the force, jump, but not swing your character's saber. What's the point?
Save your expectations & buy a pair of toy sabers, get the same use out of them...and are probably more durable.
The next chapter in the Star Wars saga, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, tells the story of Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice, a mysterious figure trained by the menacing Sith Lord, to hunt down the last of the Jedi. Set in the dark times between Episodes III and IV, the story is both a continuation of the prequel trilogy -- exploring the aftermath of Order 66, which called for the immediate execution of all Jedi, and focusing on the continued rise of Darth Vader -- and a direct bridge to the Original Trilogy. The Force Unleashed will forever change the fate of the Galaxy and explain key plot points that directly lead into events in Star Wars: A New Hope. With The Force Unleashed , LucasArts not only introduces a new chapter in the Star Wars saga, but also two completely new and innovative technologies -- Digital Molecular Matter by Pixelux Entertainment and euphoria by NaturalMotion Ltd. These groundbreaking technologies combine with Havoc physics to create true next-gen game play and the Force like it's never been seen or experienced before.
