Destined To Be Lost In The Shuffle Would be a pretty fine game, if not for the fact that in the last year I beat Lord Of The Rings: The Third Age and Champions Of Norrath. S2 is okay, but I would start elsewhere for your RPG needs.
The set-up is your basic hack-and-slash game. Run around, pound pound pound on enemies and find items that help advance your quests. Gameplay allows you to equip characters without too much hassle and switch among characters (a necessity!) with ease.
My big hangup with gameplay were the summons. Due to the way spell points are set up, you can only summon once in a great while. But the creatures you summon aren't noticably better than just using the main characters, and they take FOREVER to conjure. Several times, I saw enemies ahead and cast my summon, only to have them dispatched by my other characters by the time the summon worked. Fora game called "Summoner", this is unforgiveable.
Graphics are average, but so what? Gameplay should be the reason you choose games, not pretty pictures (with a few exceptions). If you are a fan of the hack-and-slash and haven't tried this game, I'd have to recommend either Balder's Gate title or Champions of Norrath first.

This expansion is well worth the investment. This add on is a lot of fun. If you have the original game it is well worth getting this expansion. If you don't have the original game get the deluxe version, it comes with the original game and the expansion. Either way you will love this game. So now you have full control over every part of this game, you can now customize everything. The new scenarios in the game are great, it forces you to be creative and learn all the cool things about this game. With the expansion you have a map editor, scenario editor, editor editor ;) and you can create all the scenarios you always wanted to create. I give this product two thumbs up.
Editorial ReviewWhen it comes to digital hoop action, there's no doubt that NBA 2K sports the most luscious visuals ever seen in a basketball game. It's not the best-playing basketball game out there, as it does commit some serious fouls with its questionable artificial intelligence. But like NFL 2K before it, this is yet another sports game that Dreamcast owners will want to show off to friends.
The clean graphics show some extremely well-detailed players, stadiums, fans, and even coaches. While the player animations aren't quite smooth as glass (there are quite a few speed-ups and slowdowns), the players do move in a fairly realistic manner. When you see the instant replay of your favorite power forward delivering a massive dunk, you'll cheer. To complement the visuals, Sega has added play-by-play and color commentary to document the on-screen action. While this does get a little repetitive, this feature ultimately adds to the atmosphere of realism.
NBA 2K shows some trouble with controls. This is most apparent in handling loose balls. You'll cringe as you occasionally watch long passes sail out of the court, resulting in mindless turnovers. This is especially painful to watch when the Dreamcast can't complete passes to computer-controlled players. These stupid turnovers can, will, and do affect a game's final score--and have even caused a few games to be restarted in disgust. On the positive side, NBA 2K contains a new finesse-based method of hitting foul shots that requires that you squeeze the control triggers in near perfect synch.
The create-a-player and coaching options make it relatively easy to lead your team from postseason TV watchers to championship ring owners.
While the 2000 season's prettiest basketball game offers more than just the most delicious eye candy, there is still a lingering feeling that NBA 2K could've been much better with a little more fine-tuning. At the very least, while NBA 2K is recommended, it is anticipated that the successor NBA 2K1 will offer even more backboard-breaking fun. --Mark Brooks

AWESOME NBA GAME OF 99! this is an awesome game of the 99! well its ABOUT TIME a system made a game for ALLEN IVERSON! who is FAR MORE better than KOBE BRYANT and with the stats to prove it! its just that Allen Iverson doesnt have a perfect team like kobe, as EVERYONE of kobe's team mates are better than the average nba player.
Anyways, this game has alley oops, great graphics [graphics are especially good in NBA games cuz it just looks weird when the graphics are bad in nba games, and also if you watch the sport on tv, you can tell who's who and find the better person faster without using direct pass!:) ] The rosters are accuarate, no FAKE rosters such as "roster 14" like the NBA LIVES series. all players are ACTUAL PLAYERS!

hopefully a system will make a WNBA game soon though, cuz TINA THOMPSON is hott! :)

A Very Entertaining Game My wife is a elementary school teacher and this game was recommended by some of her students. We bought the WII for my wife's mother who is 80 years old. She loves playing this game with her granddaughter. The game has various levels or "areas" of a carnival. Duck Shoot, Dunk Tank, Fortune Teller are just a few. I would recommend this game to anyone. Item arrived sooner than expected.

Great game but GOLD pack missing latest expansion This is a really cool turn-based space strategy game. Like many others, I've been loving this type of game for a long time (Reach for the Stars, Master of Orion, Master of Orion 2), and really have not found an adequate improvement upon MOO2, released way back in 1996. Pretty amazing hole in an otherwise saturated industry. I guess those of us who like turn based games are in the minority these days, but then again Civ seems to do very well so that says there are plenty of us. There have been numerous horrible attempts at succeeding MOO2 but they have all failed.
Anyway, I've not played this game enough yet to be sure its better than MOO2 but it had a good chance at it. I'll defer to the many reviews by more experienced players saying how great this game is.
What I can say is that after playing the demo of this gold pack for awhile, and deciding it is good enough to buy, the situation becomes annoying. Even though the last expansion, Twilight of the Arnor, was released ~6 months ago, there is no package that contains the full set of GalCiv2. In fact, Amazon doesn't even sell Twilight of the Arnor. Apparently Stargate only distributes it electronically or directly from them? Weird.
I want to buy a boxed combo pack containing the complete game. Especially in a case like this where the expansions are less about adding plot and more about expanding/fixing the rules. I want a nice professionally printed manual that I won't get if I buy the electronic download directly from Stargate (for the same price as if it was a printed, boxed version). Maybe this is too old school and I need to get with the times?
Anyway, cool game, 4 star instead of 5 for not having agood, easy to buy single package product.

Best game of this genre I bought this because it was cheap, but after playing it I would recommend it even if it was full price. There's some neat stuff in there and the physics is good. It plays really well and there's a great sense of immersion. The AI is very good and the levels are well designed and good to look at. There is a little slow down especially when you drive into the pools but I think it is technically very impressive for a playstation. Recommended.
