The Dig tells the story of a hand-picked team who are set to an asteroid, which is headed for Earth. From the beginning, the intelligence of the writers is displayed by the use of nuclear charges to push the asteroid from its path. The team quickly discovers that this asteroid is more then they believed as they gradually uncover the compnents that lead to its activation. The team finds themself thrown through space aboard the Crystal Starship hidden within the asteroid, only to peacefully land on the surface of an alien world. They are then left with no option but to use what little they have to attempt to unravel the mysteries of this desolate set of islands and find a way home.

An old classic I used to play this game when I was a teenager. I had wanted to buy it again but heard that it was out of circulation and could not be downloaded. I was happy when I found some copies on Amazon.
The story line of the Dig is well thought out but I would not advise letting young children play because of some violent elements. The game has excellent graphics and sound with challenging puzzles. I strongly recommend trying it if you can find it on Amazon or eBay. Because it is old it may not run on newer machines and does tend to crash frequenty.
Overall though it is loads of fun to play and the images will make you feel like you are in another world.

excellent adventure game This is an excellent adventure game. The story for the game is awesome, the game boasts of writing credits from Steven Spielberg. You play the commander of space shuttle send on a mission to divert an asteroid on a collision course with the earth. But this is no regular asteroid, play the game to figure out what it really is.
Even though the game is old and the graphics are outdated, the suspension of disbelief in the story more than make up for the graphics. Even though, the animation is great for the games of that era. The puzzles are considerable harder than most other adventure games I have played. If you can go through all the puzzles without even getting a hint once then either you are a genius or have become so frustrated that you have actually tried every possible option.
Overall it is a great game, even in this age! And it does work on XP.

One of a kind LucasArts title The Dig takes LucasArts adventurers to a place they've never been before. An alien world. Not only is this the only LA game set in space, it's also the only one to take a very serious approach. That's the biggest criticism I hear about this title. My feeling is, if you want comedy, Monkey Island is your game. If you want a more serious sci-fi epic though, look no further.
Another thing that seperates this from any other LA title is the lack of characters to interact with. For the majority of the game, it's just you and your crew members Maggie and Brink. But in a way, that's what makes it great. The concept is that you're on a planet where the technology is far advanced, but it's a barren wasteland, and there's no telling what happened to the aliens that used to inhabit this planet.
Another aspect that really adds to the game is the sound effects and cinematic score. Nearly every location has it's own atmospheric music and adds an eerie vibe. The voice acting is decent too, but there's really not a lot of dialogue throughout as you are exploring solo for the majority.
The graphics I would compare to Full Throttle as they both were released pretty close together. The backgrounds look great, but I think FT looked a little better sometimes with the in game character graphics. Way too pixelated. I could have used some more cut scenes as well.
Overall, an immersive experience and one of my favorite games. The puzzles are hard, but not too hard, there are plenty of areas to explore, and it really does feel like you're watching a sci-fi movie sometimes. Well worth experiencing.

REVIEW
My Review I ordered this game because me, my brother, and my father used to play two of the games when I was young. Being able to play the games again brought back so many memories. Easy to download and very inexpensive!
A Classic...With a Few Wrinkles! I remember playing this game so long ago when it first came out 10 years ago. I loved the story, the hard-rock music, the sarcastic LucasArts humor, and the interactivity of the puzzles. Yes, this is a simple point-and-click adventure, but while the process is simple...the way the game unfolds and presents the resulting cutscenes is very impressive. "Full Throttle" is more of an interactive movie than an actual game, but that's actually a compliment, because "interactive movies" don't get much better.
So why not a 5-Star rating? Well, this game is simply too short, and over before WAY before you might want. Games didn't have the 10-hour length of today's titles back then, but there were ones longer than this 5-hour adventure back in the day, too...including LucasArts' own "Star Wars" games! If you don't use a guide, the puzzles can be pretty head-scratching. But like all puzzle games, the second time around just isn't the same, because the solutions don't change. For a low price of 10 bucks or lower, you will have a blast the first time through. The second time around, you'll enjoy the story...but when you can finish it in 3 hours instead of 5, the suspense feels rushed...all because you've passed the test once.
My love for "Full Throttle" isn't only nostalgic --- I had the same criticisms 10 years ago. However, I still have the same praise I had in 1995, too. I highly recommend "Full Throttle" to any gamer, but just be aware of its short length before you buy it.
In Dig Dug: Digging Strike, monsters are terrorizing the islands and Dig Dug and his crew have to stop it! The classic arcade enemies, Pooka and Fygar plus a host of new bosses are causing trouble. Dig Dug's out to sink the islands and drive these critters into the sea. Players will explore 3D environments to pinpoint fault lines that will trap the boss monster, then dig on the bottom screen to connect fault lines until the islands break apart. But think ahead -- if you aren't careful, you may end up trapping yourself! Dig ahead in single player or go head-to-head wirelessly with a friend.

Dig Dug DS, Really cool I personally love the origional, so this one is a hit for me. I love how you come from the top screen to the bottom screen. That is one of the coolest parts. I also love the multiplayer mode. It is a perfect fit if you love the original and have a DS.

daughter is extremely happy with this game Since receiving this software game in August, my daughter has been playing it nonstop. I would like her to get outside while it's summer, but she can't get enough of the game! I would reccommend this game for youngsters, it was easy to load, and self explanatory that a parent was not needed. My daughter is 12 years old.

REVIEW
Baffling Issues Mar Yet Another Namco Museum There have been way too many Namco museums over the years. There just aren't enough games in the Namco brand that haven't released numerous times before on tons of different platforms. I am hoping to never see a Namco Museum again.
This one, though, does have some nice features. First off, it contains all of the Namco XBLA titles. Some of them have been truly outstanding (Pac-Man C.E and Galaga Legions) and since Pac-Man C.E. didn't break sales records, this might be your first chance to play the best re-imagining of a classic game in history. Galaga Legions is also a great re-imagining, with Galaga being more about strategy then shooting.
The rest, however, is the usual Namco stuff. Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man? Been there, done that. Frequently. Dig Dug? Love the game, but how many times has it been collected? New Rally-X? I hated the original Rally-X. Xevious? Are you serious? Mr. Driller Online with infamously bad online play?
There are also a large collection of Namco games that just weren't that amazing. Super Pac-Man was a joke. Oldies that never came to the US, such as Pac and Pal, are nice distractions, but it is not a really fun game. It never came here for a reason. And the re-visualized games (the arrangements) are just blah. Not ugly, but it doesn't do a heck of a lot for me.
The game has a huge problem, though. If you want to play the XBLA titles, you don't actually play them in the menu. You have to go to the dashboard and play them in your Games Library. Not exactly the most logical way to handle this.
It all looks good, but it's nothing we haven't seen before.
