Love Our New TomTom I am so happy with the new TomTom I ordered for my husband for christmas. He gets lost as soon as he leaves the parking lot! It has great volume capabilities. It is nice and loud. It also has some great features I was not expecting such as alarm notification if you leave it in your vehicle, choice of voice notification, language and accent. It is hysterical. We choose the voice of the English Woman who speaks with a great English Accent. It really came in handy for more things than what we thought. Over the Holiday we were out of town in an area neither one of us was familiar with. We were looking for a Mcdonalds and remembered we could ask TomTom and and viola! Presto...... Mickey D's was just down the street! It is awesome! For the price It is a great value.

They began by introducing with Map Share, which lets you instantly modify street names, street direction, and custom locations called points of interest (POIs) on your own device, then upload them to TomTom's HOME network and download changes made by all of the other users. When you do this, TomTom gets to find out what routes your device has been taking. The data is anonymous,but it's given TomTom an enormous pile of route and speed data, which they've used to tie community data to routing with their new IQ Routes™ feature, which calculates routes using the actual recorded average speeds of travel to calculate your trip rather than posted speed limits, giving you an extremely accurate prediction of how long any given route will actually take at any given time. As last year, the difference between the 730 and the 930 models is the "Enhanced Positioning Technology". The 930 contains some onboard accelerometers and gravity sensors that help it figure out where it's going even if you lose satellite signal for a few minutes, which can be incredibly useful in cities with a lot of tunnels or "urban canyons" of tall buildings, so if you live in an area where that is an issue, you may want to consider bumping up to the 930. Otherwise, this is a superb navigator that will give you everything you need and expect, and then surprise you a bit.

Get a Garmin instead TomTom continues to show weak support for the US market with its software that touts fantastic features that are not available in this country, which is a constant reminder of the wasted potential of this device. The interface is mostly usable, with big buttons to click on using the touch screen. The TomTom Home software is miserable, coming up with weird errors and an inability to perform anything but the most basic tasks. Additionally, the battery is weak and loses its ability to hold its charge quickly. Finally, the extra features - MP3 playback, bluetooth phone connections, etc., barely work even when you get them configured correctly. Not worth the price.

Excellent Device If you need a simple to use vehicle GPS, the ONE, is the way to go. I really like the features, and the ability to increase your features beyond simple navigation, such as Traffic Finder, Fuel Prices, Security Cameras, etc. These additional features are not free, but hey, the good things never are.
I would recommend this for both neophytes and veterans of GPS usage.

When used in combination, these two cables let you not only control your iPod from your Tom Tom GO, but play all of your favorite music from both units through your car's speaker in an easy, plug-and-play fashion. The system lets you operate all the necessary iPod functions, such as: play, pause, fastforward, rewind, next song, previous song, shuffle, select and browse, as well as viewing the current: playlist, composer, artist, album, genre, song, and audio books. User's should note that the audio cable is already included in the GO 910 box as a standard, and that the iPod Connect Cable cannot be used at the same time as the Tom Tom RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver, which uses the same connector. Also make sure before purchasing this product that your car stereo has a 3.5-millimeter audio jack in order to connect via the audio cable.

Easy solution to shoddy sound quality Hey guys I was thinking about buying this for my TomTom but heard of the poor sound quality which was a huge deal to me. I normally plug my iPod in through the auxilary port of my car but that will be taken up by my nav system now.
What did I do? I went to radio shack and got an audio splitter for about $10. This allows me to plug both the iPod and TomTom into a single port with no interference. The only downside is no controlling iPod with the TomTom but I'm used to that anyway.

Good Case! The case offers good protection, light weight andis compact. I bought a TomTom 920 and all of its accessories it ships with fit nicely inside the case. However the pouches don't fit the TomTom well. You can force it into the largest case and it will go, just not easily and of course it is more difficult to get out of the case. That said, for the price I am please with it and the dealer's service....
