Price: Check Pricing & Availability
Lowest Price we can find: $14.98

By bringing together several timeless classic stories and putting an innovative interactive twist on them, young children will expand their minds and imaginations, as the stories come to life like never before. Utilizing the unique features of the Nintendo DS, along with several fun and educational mini-games that are linked to the stories, and you got yourself a gift that will lead your loved ones on a path to learning! ESRB Rated E for Everyone

Great for the 3-5 crowd.
Most of the games are the same between 1, 2, and 3 - only the stories change. You can't save anything from session to session. She is not thrown off by the inappropriate asian symbols that are sprinkled throughout, or oddly-placed back/next buttons, though I wondered why these things weren't fixed when they localized for the US market.

My 4 year old daughter really enjoys this title. She loves the coloring book and free-coloring - these features sold me on the first Interactive Storybook when she was 3. The music portion is bland but she likes it and just figured out how to record a song and play it back. One of her favorite games is the counting game - she figured out how to do this early and still loves it.

She enjoyed all the stories and I found them to be age-appropriate and culturally familiar.

Bang for your buck!
I know UFO has been known to publish horrible budget games for the Wii (I'm looking at you, ANUBIS 2!). But don't let this stop you from checking out BALLOON POP! I was pleasantly surprised by this game. It's a variation on the old "match 3 of the same color" puzzle type game but it does things right. It's easy to learn and the game is simple. Wait until you get to higher levels where the action gets frantic! The Wii remote was made for this type of game as you cascade the pointer over all the different balloons. Two player versus mode is a welcome addition and adds value and longevity to the game. Colorful graphics and bouncy music round out the package. Worth your twenty bones!

Heavenly Guardian

Heavenly Guardian
Price: Check Pricing & Availability
Lowest Price we can find: $8.49

The Snow Fairy Sayuki is on a quest to save her beloved from the evil curse of the demons plaguing her land. In order to save her companion's life, she must travel through the far reaches of ancient Japan and battle mythological creatures in her pursuit of a secret remedy. Heavenly Guardian embodies the fast paced fun and adventure of the classic arcade shooter with added new thrills. Journey through various environments and fight through a variety of mythological creatures. Fight the journey solo, or gain the aid of your companions in cooperative two-player action. Search for power-ups and special items to vanquish the evil gods and save your love from death.

Awful
Feeling nostalgiac? Heavenly Guardian may seem as if it may quench the need for some brainless, old school shooter action a la Pocky & Rocky if you want to get specific, but the game is so dated that it detracts from the gameplay. Then again, the gameplay doesn't have much going for it in the first place, based on the fact that the game just isn't all that fun. Heavenly Guardian's gameplay mechanics are basically broken to boot, and the co-op gameplay isn't much better. Not to mention that if you manage to play Heavenly Guardian for any substancial amount of time, you'll find that the game as a whole is quite short. All in all, Heavenly Guardian carries a budget price tag for a reason, and no matter how the game may look to you, you are much better off leaving the game on the shelf.

Anubis II

Lowest Price we can find: $6.60

Long ago, an evil spirit known as Mumm'hotep plunged the Land of Egypt into Darkness. The Gods have called on the only one that could save Egypt and rid the sands of evil monsters... The mighty Anubis, Guardian of the Underworld!

The worst game yet for the Wii, avoid
Anubis II has a budget price for a reason. This is above all the worst game to see the light of day for the Wii yet, thanks to it's unresponsive controls, ugly visuals, boring gameplay, and a grating soundtrack all combine to help Anubis II claim the aforementioned title. You play as the savior of ancient Egypt, or something, in what would otherwise be called a platformer. As anyone who has played a video game in their life will know, jumping is key to any platformer, which Anubis II attempts to use with the Wii-mote and nunchuk, and this is where the game fails the most. Raising up the nunchuk barely works (and in some cases, it just doesn't), while the tedious combat illustrates the game's broken controls and boring gameplay all the more thanks to just plain bad movement. As far as the game's graphics go, the Wii is far from a technical powerhouse, but Anubis II looks like it was emulated from a first generation PS1 platformer. In case you haven't gotten the idea yet, Anubis II is by far and large the worst game to hit the Wii yet, and should be avoided at all costs.
