It's okay for a mild diversion. It's okay I suppose for a diversion but boring after a while. The scenes are repetitive, the censoring blurs can't be changed which kind of defeats the purpose of some of the party scenes.
Building the empire seems to be fairly simple in concept and after a while that gets boring because there isn't anything different from magazine to magazine.

Oh, come on ... I was really very excited about this game. I'd been looking forward to its release since I read about its existence this summer, since I had been a fan of the franchise ever since the first game. Sure, I might be in my second decade now, but who can't appreciate a cute and responsive puppy running around on your computer screen? I know I can.
Unfortunately, this game is a giant leap backwards from, say, Dogz 5. Yes, they've updated the graphics. The dogs are no longer made of fuzzy balls attached to each other with lines -- they're way, way creepier now. Their weird not-quite verisimilitude is a whole ton less endearing than the cartoony style of the old games. The interactivity factor has been brought way down, too. The whole point of this game, it seems, is to teach your puppy tricks -- which takes all of about five minutes with the convenient "how to teach your pet tricks" instructions --and compete with other dead-eyed puppies, thereby earning money to buy an extremely limited number of scary accessories and boring toys.
It used to be you could adopt multiple pets and they could play with each other. In this game, you can own multiple puppies, but there's never more than one out at once. I know I couldn't play it for very long, but it looks like they never grow up beyond the puppy stage, either. Half the fun of the old Dogz games (once the feature was implemented) was breeding your favorite pets and getting puppies.
The past Dogz games truly were for everyone, but Dogz 2006 is a game for children. And those children had better have some awesome attention spans, because it gets really old really fast. It's just bad. And I'm just disappointed.

Awesome! This is one of the best horse riding games I have found. It's one of the few games I will play over and over againand not get tired of it. The riding competitions are difficult, but not impossible. You take care of your own horses, you get to choose among possible horses to own and you get to name them. Training the horses isn't as time consuming as Saddle Up With Pippa Funnell, but the game play doesn't last as long. The "mystery" isn't that difficult and really just gives the game a storyline so it isn't just taking care of the horse and competing. This is one of my favorite of favorites and I highly recommend buying this game.

Another buggy game from Ubisoft If you have a platform I would *STRONGLY* recommend you buy it for that instead of for XP. My first copy of the disk gave errors during the install (bad disk).
The second copy worked to install and then I had problems with jade enr.exe crashing on game start. Since on the Ubisoft forums 15000 other people viewed this topic before it was closed I'm sure this is quite common. I followed the instructions online (basically cracking my legally bought disk) to get it working.
I thought my problems were over until I started playing. The game can't do simple math. In several of the games it adds up the score wrong making it impossible to beat several of the games.
I've contacted Ubisoft several times and received nothing of use back. There is no mention of future patches to fix the problem or even anything to fix the issue. This is the last Ubisoft game I'll buy until they improve their quality.

STILL THE BEST FPS IN THE LAST 4 YEARS! 2004 was a good year for FPS games. Both HALF LIFE 2 and FAR CRY were released. Whereas DOOM III and QUAKE IV came and went - (not exactly unnoticed but does anyone play them today?), these two were here to stay. Nevertheless, whereas HL2 eventually got to my nerves with the whole STEAMed-permission-to-play-for-30-minutes blunder, FAR CRY was the game I loved the most and replayed again and again.
The graphics are just amazing! HL2 may have crisp and clear textures too, however, FAR CRY's are also realistic and detailed even at maximum resolution. The controls are intuitive and remapable - and take the character (Jack Carver) precisely where you want him. Running is fast and crawling is effectively silent. When greater distances are to be covered, vehicles are available to commandeer.
The weapons are beautiful: a mix of real and futuristic improvements. Ammo is never really a problem (well, with the exception of the Sniper rifle bullets and the RPG loads when they would really tip the balance in your favor) and, most importantly, the damage they inflict is TRULY BALANCED: both enemies and player go down with about the same amount of damage (you would be surprised on how many games this is not true - STALKLER for one...).
The story is interesting, the locales truly breathtaking and the horizon the further you have ever seen in any game! True free roaming is not actually available (try to round an island with a speedboat to circumvent same stubborn enemies and a black helicopter will chop you to pieces), however the taste is at the tip of your tongue the whole time.
The sounds and music have been worked on with care and they maximize the gaming experience.
My only (minor) objection focuses on the battles with the mutants: FAR CRY features one of the best enemy AI ever encountered. I truly savored battling human AI - but was apprehensive when another mutant segment was coming up. Then again, the game never lets you get bored.
