Wonderful educational toy I bought this toy for my grandson who just turned 2,who is already interested in maps and can identify a few states. We have several of the Melissa and Doug toys and puzzles that have the sound feature. This is an excellent toy and I would recommend it, but some of the pieces are very small. My daughter is sure to supervise my grandson when he plays with this toy, so the pieces don't get lost. The only drawback to this toy is that the sound will activate even if the incorrect state is placed on the board in the wrong area. However, as I said we have loved ALL the Melissa and Doug toys we've bought, feel they are a good value, and like that the sound feature a lot. It does make the toy more interaction for youngsters. Yes, I recommend this toy, as long as it is used with supervision for the small pieces as well as heling the child learn where to place the pieces.

My nephews birthday present.... I bought this product without reading much about it. I am happy to say that my 8 year old nephew is very satisfied with it. He enjoys learning and at least during the two weeks that he has owned it has found time for it everyday. It also allows for competition from his older sister by having a two player version.
An excellent choice for those who don't want their children to have a steady diet of Gameboy and movies on a long summer trip.

Good product for math fun This is a fun way to practice math, my 3 boys all take turns using it. I have two problems with it. The 'reset' button is too conveniently placed in the middle so the kids step on it during their game. Also, the numbers should face the child playing it, not the observer.

3 year old knows where machu-pichu is My friend gave this toy to my son for his 3rd birthday. Let me say it's such an educational toy. Not only he learned that Machu-Pichu is in South America, he learned where the Pacific Ocean and Atlantic Ocean is on the map. Some reviews complain about the joystick and the plane not landing on the right area. The concept of giving children educational toy is for parents to guide them with itinstead of giving them the toy and learn for themselves. My son being only three years old and knowing where the Statue of Liberty, Sydney Opera house, Great Wall of China, etc is a great accomplishment.
Great educational Buy for 2 and up I bought this for my 2 year old last year for Christmas (2007), and this year she is saying the pledge. She can sing. "O Beautiful" too. I love this puzzle is it great. The hardest part is keeping the states together. I put them in a bag to keep them together.
