Fun Game This game is very, very fun game. One suggestion = before buying the game, e-mail or contact your computer company and ask them if the game will work with your computer. Otherwise, it is the funnest game I have every played. I could play it for hours and I wouldn't get board.
Addicting game I have played this game many times and still want to play it more. You're building cruise ships.. adding sleeping areas, restaurants, discos, stores, outdoor entertainment, etc. Each time I play it's different. And you have different modes you can play in... Career mode, quick action, challenge, etc. But you have to keep and eye out for rocks or serpents or land.... or you could lose!!!

Fun...if you like to loose!! Luxury Liner Tycoon is very fun...if you don't mind loosing every time! There is a limited amount of money, and everything in the ship costs so much money to build, that by the time you start the ship, you have no more money to run it and end up loosing the game! Also, the costs of running the ships are astronomical!! You loose almost all your money and it gets very old after a while. There doesn't seem to be much of a point and you give up because it's too hard.
Vast Potential, but Someone Dropped the Ball Being a fan of simulation games, such as Theme Hospital and Age of Empires for instance, I saw this game and had to have it. I like traveling, I like vacationing on cruise ships, I thought the game would be awesome. Boy was I wrong.
Cruise Line Tycoon is a simple game. The player starts with a small ship. The player must design the ship from the ground up, set pricing, and make enough money to purchase the next larger ship. Once captaining the next ship, a captain for the smaller ship must be hired. This cycle occurs until the largest ship is obtained (about 6 ships total I think).
The problem is the game is overly simplistic. All the components of the ships are pre-designed. Nothing can be customized. Changes in the overall ship design can be made based on passenger feedback, but it seems that no matter what is done, the passengers would complain about the same things over and over again. As other reviewer's have complained, the screen seems eternally dark. Despite another reviewer's suggestion on how to fix the issue, I was never able to remedy this. Also, the game became even more annoying as it seemed to run as slow as molasses in January when it is run along with even a single other windows application. This was happening despite running the game on a 2.2 GHz PC with 128 MB of RAM (where only 64 MB of RAM and a 500MHz CPU are required)
The game could have definitely benefited from some additions. Disasters and obstacles such as hurricanes, a dockworker's union strike, maybe acase of Legionnaires disease on board, on board crime sprees, corrupt foreign governments, economic downturns, etc. The possibilities could have been endless, and I think it would have made the game awesome. At the very least, I think allowing the player to make their own cruise routes would have made the game tolerable.
I recommend staying away from this game. It is entertaining for only a short while. Save your $20 and go buy something else.

Pretty fun game.. if it dosent crash I went against the reviews and bought this game, because I love aviation and liked the first airport tycoon. It takes awhile to get used to, and you have to do a bit of waiting, but once you get it its pretty fun. The only proplem I have is it crashes alot, there could be a fix to this I have to look. Other than that I would recommend this to people who really love commercial aviation and airports. If you arnt in one of those it might not be a game you like.

Poorly written I agree with most of what the other reviewers of this product have said. I did figure out how to move the camera around and zoom out, although it is cumbersome. My first clue that this game would be a disaster was reading all of the grammatical and spelling errors in the tutorial. It sounded like the person that wrote the tutorial had translated it directly from their native language (NOT English).
I had some fun with the game, trying to do well enough to unlock the next part of the mall. But eventually I tired of creating the same stores over and over. The program eventually started putting things in odd places and not fully deleting the stores that closed down. I ended up with red-colored stores all over the screen that couldn't be replaced.

Addicting, Staisfying, DELICIOUS! Restaurant Empire is a FANTASTIC Game. I wish they would make a a sequel!
The Scenario Mode has a bunch of scenarios for you to complete as you try to put together your uncle's old business. You meet new merchants, find a little crush, and try to battle it out and beat the ultimate opponent.
You get to design 5-6 restauratns by the end of the game themed by Seafood, American, French, Italian, and one more I don't remember. You can choose decorations and what food you want to sell there.
Plus, you get to compete in Cooking Competitions which are probably the best part. You basically cook 1-3 different dishes depending on the specific competition's guidelines and then play fun little minigames to improve your chef's concentration, organization, etc.
This is a GREATgame, especially for peopele who like managment or 'create-your-own' games and like the idea of being a chef or restaurant manager. The Scenario Mode is great, so if a 'story mode' type thing is what you like, it's perfect, but there's also a sandbox mode for those who just like to build away!

Read me The premise for the game wasnt bad, the graphics could have been better. THE THING I HATED THE MOST; DISASTERS!!!! Once you got ahead of the game, got some cash and students, BOOM! earthquake or tornado. Who thought that up? You CANT turn them off either, i tried looking for cheat codes. Its a lame game, its not a good (im bored, need a good tycoon game to pass the time)so think before you buy, if its for a child, they'll get bored with it or pissed off.

Fun Fun Fun This game works PERFECTLY and it is very FUN and ADDICTING. I have a Pentium 2 233 Mz. drive and it works like a charm! It only slows down when it is changing songs. It is challenging, too. I cannot get past the 3rd level where you earn 5,000,000 in profits. I can't stop playing it!
I read the reviews in the other version of the Airline Tycoon and I downloaded a patch so it dosn't ask for a manual check. (...) It is the only site that has the patch.
