If you've ever felt like a transit system might be on your side, or like the weather might be conspiring against you, then you might find a familial rapport with Speed. An eccentric who refers to "masculine turns" and referring to the Brooklyn Bridge as his friend, Speed will take you on a whirlwind tour of the city that never sleeps like you've never seen it before.
Thanks to this film, I had the blessing of spinning between the twin towers, a la Speed Levitch, almost exactly one year before 9/11. Twirling around, as he did in the film, marveling at the magnitutde of the universe, wondering why we so often forget the importance of being child-like, I knew this moment was significant.
This is my favorite film of all time and I do not say that lightly. Speed has changed the way I think about and interact with the world. I am one who does not often like to see movies repeatedly, but I get something new each time I see this one. It is funny, charming, simple, and important. If you've ever had a love affair with a flower, see this film. If you never have, and never intend to, watch with fascination as Speed relays his experience of the universe. |

The movie will probably be good to you if you've never read the book. I was a little frustrated with it, because the ending was so different. It's still worth watching, though. |

o my some people are pissed off about unbox!! im happy to say im NOT one of them. i was very pleasantly surprised to learn that i could download new episodes of my favorite show, the office of course, right to my computer!! it sure beats waiting for it to come to DVD. i also really liked the idea of the office going to hour long episodes (just downloaded the 3rd episode), so i was kinda disappointed when i found out they went back to half an hour episodes :( but that didnt change my love for the show!! ill take the office anyway i can get it!! the first 3 seasons were just great and with what ive seen of the 4th season my opinion hasnt changed. and isnt likely too. although i do want to punch Ryan in the mouth!! but i have a feeling hell get what he has coming to him........ill keep my fingers crossed!! |

It was fun to watch the first episode of Scooby Doo (High Rise Hair Raiser) on my computer as a download with my kids. We go back and watch it from time to time. I am glad that Amazon gave me this free download, so that I could try this feature. |

Amazing.
These words are basically perfect for describing this film. I have heard so many people give this movie crap, and I don't appreciate that! Really, I don't see what the fuss is about! If you wanted a movie that was better than the first Speed, then you shouldn't have seen this in the first place! Of course it's not going to live up to the first Speed! You just have to acknowledge that, and after that... it's time to move on and enjoy Speed 2 for what it really is: an adrenaline racing, heart pumping, suspenseful movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat! Just because a movie doesn't add up to its predecessor, does NOT make it a bad movie! Although Jason Patric doesn't have as much depth as I thought Keanu Reeves had, he still played the part pretty well... and as always, Sandra Bullock was phenomenal!
Basically, what I'm trying to say is... cut the crap about this movie not living up to Speed 1. Of course it isn't going too! After you have accepted that and moved on... then you can pop in Speed 2 and enjoy it for what it is and not for what it isn't! It isn't a movie that lives up to the predeccesor. It is a movie that is pretty dang good, with great acting and some amazing action scenes!
Accept that or don't see the movie. Plain and simple. |

| REVIEW | Best Law Enforcement Drama Ever
I have never seen a TV series with better characterization and writing. For well turned psychological drama, this series is the best. The writers deliver scripts that expose the human underbelly of criminals, showing us how real people, even ones who might live next door to us, can cross the line between simply being dysfunctional and committing murder. The actors present it in a way we can all recognize. I've always been fascinated with criminal psychology and the writers/actors/producers of this show explore it for us in a very entertaining way. I often finish an episode thinking to myself, "Wow... that situation sure reminds me of so and so." Disturbing, but mesmerizing. |
