REVIEWPerfect for mixed age kids
I hate to see my kids watching each other play single and two person games. Muppets cruise solves the problem. This is far and away the best 4 player game I've seen. My kids from age 5 to age 9 can play at the same time and not get bored. I'm not much of a game player, but even a parent can get into the action without boredom. The 9 year old doesn't like the uncool title, but he gets into it as much as the 5 year old.

Title: Cruise Ship Tycoon

ESRBRating: Teen
Suggested Retail Price: $3.49

Cruise Ship Tycoon will challenge players to establish and run a mighty cruise ship empire. The entire fleet of cruise ships is in your hands -- take it from a single ship to a huge worldwide fleet that makes you a fortune!

REVIEWDon't Embark on this Shipwreck of a Game
Now, don't get me wrong; the game has a great concept and will appeal to all cruise - vacation lovers immensely, which I, myself am. While the game did APPEAL to me and I desperetley wanted to take it for a spin, I quickly found it to be perhaps the most boring and pointless thing I spent my hard earned money on.

To start, the game offers you absoloutely no control over what the rooms look like. Unlike classic sims, such as Hotel Tycoon or The Sims, which give you every option to customize your rooms to your liking and make your dream come true, Cruise Ship Tycoon sadly doesn't. You simply pick the type of room you want, select one of the bleak, unoriginal and limited styles of the type of room previously highlighted and place the room down in an availabe area. You have no jurisdiction over anything, and all cruise ships you create become repetitive and boring. This adds to the limited replay value.

The game offers you three modes: Instant Action (which you can hardly call "action", as the game offers no action whatsoever and it will be over before you begin it), Challenge Mode and Career Mode. In Instant Action, you have the ability to experiment with the games limited controls and basic interface. Basically, you can build a cruise ship and sail it. Woop-De-Doo! In Challenge Mode the game throws at you a few missions with no "challenge". Thus, it's easy to breeze through these in no time at all. Sadly, I did not get to "Career Mode, becasue I was so bored with the product I couldn't get myself to play the whole game but I am sure I got the jist of it from the other two modes!

The only positive thing I can say about this game is that there are a nice variety of ports, and I was happy to see that it featured the island that I live on; Bermuda.

The game is basic. Basically bad. For a frequent cruiser, I should know what components would go into a great tycoon for this genre. Very dissapointing CatDaddy. You missed 90% of what elements would make an extremely memorable tycoon.

REVIEW A Modern Classic
I love this movie so much! I saw it when I was in high school, and was really surprised at how much I loved it. I've never been a Tom Cruise fan, and at the time Renee was an unknown. Also, I'm not a sporty girl, why would I care about the life of a sport's agent? I don't know if it was the acting, the writing, great casting, wonderful settings, great editing, I just know that it all came together and will become a classic in the future.

REVIEWVast Potential, but Someone Dropped the Ball
Being a fan of simulation games, such as Theme Hospital and Age of Empires for instance, I saw this game and had to have it. I like traveling, I like vacationing on cruise ships, I thought the game would be awesome. Boy was I wrong.

Cruise Line Tycoon is a simple game. The player starts with a small ship. The player must design the ship from the ground up, set pricing, and make enough money to purchase the next larger ship. Once captaining the next ship, a captain for the smaller ship must be hired. This cycle occurs until the largest ship is obtained (about 6 ships total I think).

The problem is the game is overly simplistic. All the components of the ships are pre-designed. Nothing can be customized. Changes in the overall ship design can be made based on passenger feedback, but it seems that no matter what is done, the passengers would complain about the same things over and over again. As other reviewer's have complained, the screen seems eternally dark. Despite another reviewer's suggestion on how to fix the issue, I was never able to remedy this. Also, the game became even more annoying as it seemed to run as slow as molasses in January when it is run along with even a single other windows application. This was happening despite running the game on a 2.2 GHz PC with 128 MB of RAM (where only 64 MB of RAM and a 500MHz CPU are required)

The game could have definitely benefited from some additions. Disasters and obstacles such as hurricanes, a dockworker's union strike, maybe a case of Legionnaires disease on board, on board crime sprees, corrupt foreign governments, economic downturns, etc. The possibilities could have beenendless, and I think it would have made the game awesome. At the very least, I think allowing the player to make their own cruise routes would have made the game tolerable.

I recommend staying away from this game. It is entertaining for only a short while. Save your $20 and go buy something else.

REVIEWBest Party Game Yet
Being a huge fan of both the Muppets and the "party game" genre, I had to give this game a try. Even though it costs far less than competing games, this one is way more fun, pound-for-pound.

Compared to other party games, this one gives each player a greater amount of control over their board moves and strategies. It's not just a simple laps-around-the-board or race-to-the-finish format in this game. Instead, it's a freeform structure that allows the players to determine how often they play minigames and how mean they want to be to each other. This feature is appealing for older players who are turned off by the dumbed-down, restrictive boards on games like Mario Party or Pac-Man Fever. Also, as you unlock larger boards, more features are also unlocked, allowing you new ways to harrass your opponents, such as hypnotizing their characters or draining their funds from the Automated Trouble Machine.

As far as the minigames go, this game offers 30 quality 4-player minigames which all operate on a universal point system. They range from puzzle games to flying, first person shooting, sports, arcade, and driving games- and all with a silly Muppet twist. Fish tossing, stinky cheese gathering, and tomato throwing are all included, and that's just what you do with food. A great feature of the universal point system is that you can pre-purchase points in each game to gain an unfair advantage if you choose to, or you can horde your credits and try to cash them in at the end. If you save, look out for rock-paper-scissors, where an opponent can challenge you for half your stash. The tide can turn quickly if you aren't careful!

I also should mention the music. Whoever wrote the tunes that play behind each mini game and the main floors did a superb job. I love listening to the songs inthis game. I don't think I could say that about any other games. It really adds to the Muppet atmosphere hearing the kooky, brassy music behind the action.

Overall, I can't recommend this game enough. So far, I've played it with quite a few friends, three of which went to purchase it themselves. You can't go wrong with under $20 for a game of this quality. A+

Luxury Liner Tycoon gives you the chance to sail the oceans in complete luxury -- and for a fee, provide that luxury for others. Use your business acumen and financial skills to create a true world-class luxury liner!

REVIEWFun...if you like to loose!!
Luxury Liner Tycoon is very fun...if you don't mind loosing every time! There is a limited amount of money, and everything in the ship costs so much money to build, that by the time you start the ship, you have no more money to run it and end up loosing the game! Also, the costs of running the ships are astronomical!!You loose almost all your money and it gets very old after a while. There doesn't seem to be much of a point and you give up because it's too hard.

Suggested Retail Price: $13.95

Zergwatch: Here's a new line for Barbie's incredibly long résumé: sleuth. That's right--the gal who brings glamour to everything that she does is hot on the trail of an art thief, and she needs your help to solve the case. Join her on a tropical cruise on which she'll uncover clues, unravel the mystery, collar the crooks, and return the stolen island art to its rightful owner. As in the board game Clue, you'll find that the evidence incriminates different suspects with each new game, which keeps the mystery fresh every time that you play. Also, this adventure game is for one or two players; so, consider bringing in a friend for backup.

REVIEWNot for Barbie-age kids
This game is too complicated for my 7 yearold. Even with my help she was frustrated. By the time she is old enough to play this game alone she will think she is too old to do anything with Barbie in the title. Save your money.

REVIEWA sad result from a great book and movie
Based on the Sci-Fi movie, and based on a story by Philip K. Dick, Minority Report lets you play a cop in the future where psychics know about murders before they happen.

First, kudos to the game for providing decent training. The game walks you through all aspects of gameplay, so you are familiar with the basics before entering actual missions.

The game is based on the movie, and the story, so it helps to read and see both before you play the game. In essence, society has found 3 "pre-cogs" who are able to see murders before they happen. Your character, Chief Anderton (played by Tom Cruise in the movie) is the leader of the cops who go out to snag murderers before they do the deed. Of course, in a twist of fate, Chief Anderton himself is accused of potentially murdering someone, andhe sets about to prove he's innocent.

First, the graphics. This game is out on all platforms so we got the XBox version which usually has the crispest graphics of the consoles. We were pretty disappointed. Anderton looks more like a maniacal killer than a cop, definitely not based on Tom Cruise. Lighting and textures are very flat. There aren't many details, and often those suffer clipping and jaggy problems.

Yes, a few effects are neat. The concussion rifle, the cut scenes. But it doesn't make up for the headaches you get from the general atmosphere you have to wander through.

Gameplay starts reasonably with good training missions. But once you get playing, it's just a button-mashing slugfest. You're trying to bludgeon your enemies into submission, gathering 'secrets' and money along the way. Money buys you new moves and other weapons.

Even so, some of the missions become quite long and tedious, with no in-level save. If you die, you have to replay from the beginning of the level, bashing your way through everyone from the start.

Being a huge fan of Philip K. Dick, I really wanted this game to succeed. I try to promote his books and movies as much as I can. But while the game has some 'background eye candy' based on the movie, it's mash-and-bash atmosphere is just tedious. Hopefully they'll do a better job on the next game conversion they do!

Starship Titanic: First Class Cruise kit

Title: Starship Titanic: First Class Cruise kit
Price: Check Pricing & Availability
ESRBRating: Teen
Suggested Retail Price: $29.99

Zergwatch: Based on Douglas Adams's legendary Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the Starship Titanic series puts you on board the greatest spacecraft ever built. Unfortunately, it has disappeared mysteriously in hyperspace. Once on board, you must discover what caused the disappearance, reveal the conspiracy that lies behind the catastrophe, and then repair the ship's intelligence and guide it back home.

REVIEWThe fun wasn't in the puzzles...
Usually when people play adventure games they do it partially because they enjoy solving puzzles. In this game the puzzles seemed to only be a small part of the enjoyment. It was more fun to play with the message delivery system, tease the parrot, and vandalize the ship... the puzzles were simply a means to do more of this.

If you are a fan of both Douglas Adams and Monty Pyton you will love this game, otherwise some of the jokes might be lost upon you. The novel that comes with the game is a big plus, as it explains things a bit better.

Game play wise the interface is clean and has a unique feature that allows you to actually type in dialogue that you'd like to 'say' to the other characters instead of selecting phrases like to many other adventure games. There were times when it was somewhat tedious to run from one end of the ship to another, but that tends to be a given for any adventure game these days.

If I were to voice any great complaint, it was that in the end I didn't feel as though I'd accomplished all that much and kept wondering where the rest of the game had gone. I think more time was spent on making the game LOOK neat instead of making it a deep and interesting adventure. It has some really hilarious moments (the parrot is great!) but not all that much more.
