If you like Rock Band then you have to buy this game. Let me start by saying the game playing is the same (as far as I can tell). So far the song selection is really good but to me the most important thing is....
All the songs I bought in the original Rock Band I can play in this version.
I'm not a huge gamer but I have never bought extra's for a game and they have worked in the next version of the game. I'm sure there maybe some games where this exists but let me say I probably bought 30 songs for the first game and I can play them all so why not upgrade! Add a Review

Don't believe these negative reviews, its just a politicalish movement against software makers, the game is perfect! This is pretty simple. There is nothing wrong with the game itself, it is incredibly fun. I bought the game and was a little worried about the installation procedure, as there were tons of negative ratings for this item. Started 4 Games completed 1!!!! I wish I could have been able to give this game a more honest review because from what I was able to see the graphics were heightened and the difficulty set to your personal playing level seemed like an improvement.
But the time-line went a little something like this: I started a franchise with the Lions (I know) went through the Madden test to receive my Madden IQ (how the game is fine-tuned to your playing level) and around the 4 minute mark the game FROZE after a tackle (I even intercepted the ball!).
I restarted the entire process right away after turning the game off of course. IQ test, preseason pre-game training (how you increase your players' stats - rather pain staking for so measly little upgrades), I SAVED the thing and started my first game. Froze. Second period during the play call screen. Game off for the night.
Next day: Turned on load saved game and tried again. FINISHED THE GAME. I lost. BUT I FINISHED MY FIRST GAME. Hey I'm 1/3. Saved. Second game. Froze in the first period. Game off for the night.
Next day: Walked into EB and returned the stupid game. Never another Madden game ever. Went home and enjoyed 2K5 on the ps2. Waiting for Fallout 3.

AW MAN!!! Another disapointment in this fall's lineup.
The game does take a while to get warmed up to. At first only part of the world is available to you, and very few missions. The game build up over time, as you make new contacts and more work becomes available. There is usually one or 2 missions that will progress the main story line. The challenges are mediocre at best, as I found myself beating them fairly easily. The best aspect of thegame is the sheer amout of vehicles that you can control. You can hijack any vehicle, even later when helicopters show up, you can graple to it, and with the correct pressing of bittons, throw the pilot out and steal it.
My top three gripes of the game are:
1. The missions are WAY to REPETITIVE- you are either destroying an outpost, smuggling something, protecting somebody, or kidnapping somebody. These four scenarios happen again, and again, and again, oh and again..
2. The graohics could be better-After seeing theWAY better graphics on other games, this one does'nt seem up to par.
3. The Enviroment immersion is pretty lame- When compared to GTA IV, the enviroment in this game just seems pretty weak. The people merely yell something at you as you pass by. I guess for lack of better words, it does'nt seem as alive as past sandbox games.
The coolest part of this game was blowing stuff up, but even that gets old after awhile-(I know, I can't believe I just said that).
I thought that playing with a buddy was going to be so much cooler than it actually was. After an hour of playing co-op with my friend, it became quite boring.

Securom Ruins another decent game. ***BOYCOTT ANYTHING THAT SAYS 'EA' ON THE FRONT AND HERE'S WHY***
So I was one of the dumb suckers that bought the game without staying up with the news. I've been waiting for Spore since '04 and the news I kept up with were changes to the gameplay. Not how EA was going to ruin the experience for legitimate users.
In the end, I popped in the game, and Securom installed without a dialogue box, prompt or asking in any way, shape, or form.
< >It was only after a friend saw me playing and asked if I pirated it.
I was like "No, I want to support Will Wright and good, intelligent games."
And he just laughed at me as this all got explained. That's my fault for not keeping up with news and boycotting the game. But what isn't my fault is being screwed over for giving EA money.
Now my PC randomly scans my entire hard drives and pretty much locks up my CPU using all my CPU cycles every few hours, while Securom searches my drive to make sure I'm not a software pirate.
I've lost almost all ability to multi-task and frequently get 10-15 second lockups.
My internet connection drops all the time.
And Securom is constantly sending data out to EA servers.
Fun, but now I have to reformat.
Wait, if I do that, I'll only have two activations left!
But I can't install this software on my computer.
So what do I do?
I have to build an old PC out of spare parts, install Spore, and *ONLY* use it for Spore. Meanwhile firewalling all my other PCs against it and against EA incursions (because EA connects to you all the damn time).
So now I'm down to 1 activation, I have to use a whole 'nother computer and I have to reformat this one.
Meanwhile pirates steal the game without Securom left and right and see now penalty and have no problems.
Thanks for doing your best to hurt the people who give you money, while the real thieves and pirates get away Scot-Free.
