Ramp Racer My 18 month old loves his ramp race (almost as much me). He pretty much trys to put anything in there, but is learning only to use small cars. The two cars that came with it, get down the ramps about 90% of the time without crashing.

Flimsy, bad construction Don't waste your money! We got this as the big Xmas surprise for our kids this year ... and, after carefully setting it up on Christmas Eve, put it right back in the box again. No amount of tinkering could make the train cars actually go down the roller coaster; they would get stuck repeatedly, and then sail off the structure altogether. Many of the pieces are cute, like the little animal cars, but others are cheaply and shoddily made. Most notably, the music box in the carousel was horribly off key, making a truly unpleasant sound.
The kids won't run out of fun things to put together and do with this 70-piece train set.

Kids Light Up If you want to see a little kid's eyes light up, just bringthis out. Easy enough for a parent to use, too. The illustration shows a number of small parts, but they are not actually that small and present no real choking hazard. The track fits together well, even for small hands.

Excellent tunnel system -- perfect with Melissa & Doug set! We bought this to go with the 130 piece Melissa & Doug Classic Wooden Railway Set we bought on Amazon as well. It's ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!! Best mountain we found out there, hands down. The base has two tunnels that cross, and the top lifts off to make it's own tunnel elsewhere on the track -- a very cool thing for a 2 year old to do all by himself!
We anchored our track and tunnel to a piece of pre-sanded plywood and it's just perfect for a 2 year old. It stays in place and can take the abuse and unrefined motor skills of a youngster with no problem.
The plastic is fairly thick and quite sturdy, and it looks much more realistic than other mountain sets we looked at. We are VERY, VERY pleased with this and if we had more room and a bigger train set, we'd buy another one!

A real quality toy for children.. I highly recommend maxim train sets, especially for children 3 and older. Our 2 year old loves it too but would need a lot of help to set it up. My four year old daughter recently got this set for her birthday to add to an existing maxim train set we had. These are quality sets that provide fun for everyone! I think I enjoy setting up the train tracks different ways as much as my children do!

Sturdy wooden train set I really liked this set, it's cheap and colorful enough to grab my toddlers attention to their already huge train collection! Definitely worth having, small enough for 18 month old son to hold in his hand and fits perfectly on the Thomas/Brio wooden tracks. Plus it goes around the 'curves' of the tracks really nicely without de-railing.

Ahoy there, mateys! Wow! This was a real challenge to put together - and I'm pretty mechanically inclined. It wasn't difficult, it just took a while. Nevertheless, it's a very well constructed toy (with the exception of the masts that screw together in the middle). We bought it for my daughter's 6th birthday and she loves it! It has wheels on the bottom so she can "sail" it all around the house (on thewood floors)...lots of room for imagination play. A little on the pricey side, but I think it's worth it.
