Assassin's Creed ending.. wtf?

Seems like the end of Assassin's creed is in the sequel

Talk about your hyped game. This game was talked up to be the game that people bought thier PS3s for this past holiday season. Then the game was no longer a PS3 exclusive. Bummer, but I was still pumped. The game definately started out differently than I thought, but I trudged on. The first two levels were amazing and extremely fun to play. Interesting concept and story. It is quite unfortunate that the last levels were idendical to the first two. This game suffered from serious monatamy.

I understand that UBISOFT created the most reactive contextual environments seen in a game. The crowd reacts to everything you do. Brilliant. They also created some stunning visuals and amazing areas. The problem is that everything looks the same. The combat system is fairly underdeveloped. Once you get the counterattack in level 3, Altair can essentially take on 25 soliders at once without much difficulty. I would have appreciated a deeper combat system.

All of this silliness (seriously after you lay the deathblow on someone, time and the guards freeze so you can converse) aside, Anyone who beat this game knows the true aggravation is the ending. I don't even think that we can call this an ending. The last battle was a welcome change of pace, but far too easy. The ending wasn't even an ending, it was your character staring at a wall. I understand the meaning of symbolism and building tension, but this is ridiculous. When the sequel drops, take a cue with better combat and some story progression.

Interesting change of pace, but it repeatative. Pick up a used copy.
