Bought this game for my sister and we both like it.
To be honest, I'm not a fan of the Sims series. And when MySims was announced I had no plans to buy it. But in the end I bought it for my sister for a birthday present. And I'm glad I did.
This game is incredibly addicting. From the building items for your neighbors to interacting with the chibi-sims, it's an all-around fun game. It doesn't play like a Sim game and without the Sim talk the characters use you probably wouldn't think it WAS a Sim game. But going around sprucing up your town to get people to move in is enjoyable and never repetitive. It's very difficult to put this game down once you start playing.
I only have two complaints about this game. The bigger your town grows the longer the load times are, as is the staple of the Sims series. And there's just too many characters (though they are adorable) and not enough places to move them in. The majority of the town involves excavating and wandering, which makes the story interesting with many fun items but there's just too many of these items and just not enough lots. I hope if there's a sequal there's less emphasis on the essences and more on the characters. I also hope these characters return in a sequal, too.
Definitely pick up this game if you're a fan of the Sims or Harvest Moon or Animal Crossing; the game plays like the latter two as well (though thankfully without Animal Crossing's real-time clock). It really is a fun game and a good addition to your Wii library.
