Toni Westbrook of Synthetic Dreams announced his Shredz64 project in his January 2007 blog posting and promised to deliver a fully functional version of Guitar Hero for the Commodore 64.
One year later, on March 10th, Tony announced that Shredz64 has been completed and available from www.toniwestbrook.com .
In the video he demonstrates the capability of the Commodore 64 synthesizer. The Commodore 64 was released 26 years ago, in 1982 and was far superior to the modern PC's of that era. Its only fitting that the computer that started the whole computerized demo scene rise from the ashes once again with a Guitar Hero port.
Only time will tell if Activision will be knocking on Toni's door or whether anybody will actually dig out their old commodore 64 hardware and give this progam a shot. It was also not mentioned if the program will work on a Commodore 64 emulator on a PC.
Either way, its one heck of a cool project that old Commodore users like myself can appreciate.
