Quest Update: Find the Hidden Pepsi
In a recent effort to end the confusion over whether Habbo Hotel is an online game for teens or a website for a low income brothel in Las Vegas, the company decided to drop the word hotel from its name and move forward as Habbo.
This week, Habbo announced it has partnered with Double Fusion, the company responsible for putting Chryslers in Splinter Cell, Dodge in Ghost Recon and Dell on the outfield scoreboard in Ultimate Baseball Online, to include in game advertising in the popular teen hang Habbo Hotel.
Teens can expect new features such as Find the hidden Pepsi Quest and eat Doritoes instead of generic items. Recently, Double Fusion partnered with NC Soft to provide in game advertising in City of Heroes.
Some other upcoming feature changes in Habbo include changing the name of existing Habbo Games. Wobble Squabble will now be the Prozac Wobble Squable. Snow Storm will be renamed Bud Ice Storm and Diving will be renamed Richard Garriot's billion dollar plunge into the unkown.
As far as the game Habbo Hotel and its quest for in game advertising revenue. I really don't care about either. Are the ads good for teens? Most of them probably just use Habbo to try to score whatever the current date rape drugs or just spew text abbreviated shit at eachother while really accomplishing nothing. I personally think its a waste of time because teens have no money and they won't be paying attention to advertising in a game any more than they pay attention to important things like parents, teachers and common sense.
