The U.S. Army, in Texas, has gone beyond telling prospective recruits to "Be All You Can Be" by telling them to Join the Army and have a chance of winning a Nintendo Wii. The incentive was a plan hatched by the Army's San Antonio Recruiting Battalion responsible for recruiting soldiers in Southern Texas.
It's uncertain whether the program will increase recruiting levels, but Bart Keyes, the chief of Advertising for the battalion has high hopes.
In a time of war, getting able bodied young men to join the military can be a daunting task. In the past the Army has been on the cutting edge of technology in their recruiting efforts with the popular Army based simulation FPS, America's Army while the Air Force and Navy are still using the G.I. Bill as their recruiting lure.
Meanwhile, in the real world, the United States Marine Corps doesn't offer recruits toys or a Wii, they offer young kids the ability to become men, which has always been the most valuable reward given by any branch of the service.
