The Game Developers Conference of 2008 has closed its doors, but many
fun and exciting things have been announced. Here are a few of the
highlights that have FilePlanet buzzing.
Spore:
We're all looking forward to September 2008 when we'll finally get to
put our claws on the highly anticipated new title from Will Wright
(creator of The Sims). Spore is an epic journey that takes you from
being a one-celled critter all the way to conquering the galaxy through
space exploration.
Prototype:
We can't wait to become Alex Mercer, a wicked shape-shifter who tears
through New York City trying to unravel the mystery that is his life.
You could walk through the city unnoticed as well, but what fun is that?
We want to walk through the city tearing things apart.
Gears of War 2:
The battle against the Locust Horde continues with Gears of War 2,
sequel to the popular third-person shooter from Epic Games. Microsoft
Announced at GDC that this Xbox 360 exclusive title is headed our way
November 2008. Yes, yes I know it's Xbox 360 - but we're still excited.
CryEngine 2:
The incredible graphics of Crysis will forever warm our hearts, but its
successor was announced at GDC this year. CryEngine 2 is being developed
including many graphical enhancements that mostly sound like gibberish
to us. Luckily it all adds to graphics for their future title being
"really damn cool".
