To make gaming as accessible to people of all ages and all abilities, Nintendo wanted to create a controller that was as inviting as it was sophisticated- the result is the Wii Remote. Nintendo fused the global familiarity of a remote control with the sophistication of motion-sensing technology to come up with an input device that differentiates the Wii from any other console that has come before it.
Revolutionary control Sporting the dimensions of a small traditional remote control, the wireless Wii Remote is a multifunctional device that is limited only by the game designer's imagination. The magic of the Wii Remote's design lies within; acellerometers inside the controller body measure movement in all directions and at all speeds. In a tennis game, it serves as your racket as you swing your arm for a long forehand or a quick and hard backhand. In a 4x4 driving game it serves as a steering wheel, allowing you to swerve to avoid obstacles or pickup power-ups. In first-person shooters, the Wii Remote acts as a firearm that you can point directly at an on-screen enemy. The list of potential uses is enormous, and the light weight of the Wii Remote allows gamers to play for hours without feeling fatigued.
The Wii Remote boasts impressive technology for such a compact package.

As comfortable as it is functional
The Wii Remote is equally comfortable in right and left hands and houses just the right number of buttons for gaming- not so many that new players will get confused, but enough so that Wii games don't feel constrained. On the face of the remote are the D (or "plus") pad, a large "A" button which is used for major on-screen actions, and two small options buttons. Between the game buttons are a plus and minus buttons (which often act as "forwards" and "back"), as well as a "Home" button to engage the Wii home screen to change settings or check remote battery levels. On the back side of the controller is a trigger-like "B" button, perfect for timing releases of a bowling roll in Wii Sports.
Thankfully, battery life is excellent with the two included AA batteries, just as with the previous generation of Nintendo wireless controllers.
Immersive intelligence
Along the bottom of the Wii Remote, four blue LED lights indicate which player position the remote is currently set to. The controller automatically connects to the Wii console via Bluetooth wireless technology. Below the LEDs, an expansion port lets you connect a number of devices including the Nunchuck and Classic controllers for Virtual Console gaming (Virtual Console games and controller accessories sold separately). Other features of the Wii Remote include adjustable rumble force-feedback and a reinforced wrist strap to ensure safe use. A speaker inside the remote gives the player feedback about the strength of swings or the accuracy of their moves- such as realistic tennis noises as the "racket" connects with the ball in Wii Sports. Overall, the physical design of the remote is extremely sturdy and of very high quality, ensuring countless hours of Wii gaming fun!

Second Wiimote Doubles the Fun! I bought this as a second Wiimote to the one that came with the unit. It's absolutely necessary to play MarioKart, tennis, and many others. I'm glad i got it and it works great. One footnote......I still need a second nunchuck to play boxing (and probably other games) so keep that in mind. Also, you don't need a wheel to play MarioKart. I never use it. I just hold the Wiimote horizontal. Add a Review

Got Olympic Fever? As a result of Michael Phelps' astounding eight gold medals at this year's Olympic Games, many adults (and thus likely a fair amount of children) have been glued to their television sets night after night, cheering for the United States (or country of choice) to win a medal.
Thus, if your children (or you yourself!) were swept away by Olympic fever, and you happen to own a Wii, then this game will entertain you to your wits end! Much like the U.S. competing against other countries in the real Games, this game pits classic Nintendo characters (Mario, DK, Peach, Link, etc.) against characters from the Sega brand (Sonic, Tails, Shadow, Eggman, etc.). Much like Super Smash Bros. "determines" who could beat up who, this game establishes victory based on athletic achievements in such events as swimming, track, and field.
The controls are easy to pick up, taking full advantage of the Wii nunchuk format, yet challenging enough to keep you raring to drop that last .10 of a second to win first place.
Overall, this is a great game for those who have caught Olympic fever, or just are intrigued by seeing the Nintendo and Sega franchises combine. Add a Review
Nyko's Charge Station for Wii is a great wayto save money on batteries. This dock features twin rechargeable battery packs for the WiiRemote -- just connect the Wii Remotes and let them sit until you're ready to play. Charges two Wiimotes at once.
REVIEW
Worse than useless!!!!!! The charging station might actually work, however, the Wii remotes I charged with this thing no longer function properly. The infrared signal from the remotes jumps around so muchthat using them is just impossible. In holding the remotes while trying to use my Wii I can even feel the internal mechanisms sputtering. I was hopeful that if I went back to batteries the problem would stop. THEY DIDN'T! Now, both of my remotes are useless. If there was a rating lower than zero it would still be too high for this product! Add a Review

Located at the base/handle of each of these is a compartment that is designed for the Wii remote control to fit right into. With the remote snuggly secured, you can freely hack, drive and steer away while getting the authentic feel of actually being in the game. The lightweight material assures that equipment isn't a heavy burden on your arms so that you may enjoy a lengthier playing time without tiring as quickly. tried it once when they arrived useless.......... if you have kids maybe it would be worth buying..... my ultimate review would be "more trouble then what it's worth" although I don't have any driving games yet. Maybe the steering wheel is usable. Add a Review

Fun for you and your friends, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz takes the classic, fan-favorite Monkey Ball gameplay and adds a barrel-load of thrilling new party games.
REVIEW
Not for beginners - could be frustrating The objective of this game is to guide a rolling 'monkey ball' through a range of obstacles (slopes, stairs, gaps, bridges etc) through a series of passages. The levels are vibrant and very colorful. Wii motion controls are cleverly used and amazingly nice and intuitive. Be careful not to fall off the edge and fight a boss at the end of each one of the ten levels. The levels get progressively difficult and quite challenging (some very difficult, esp. the bosses). To add to it, there is a time limit on levels. You may get frustrated if you are an average gamer or beginner.
The game also has 50 mini games of varying difficulty and goals - most with simultaneous multi-player capability. The variety is so much that you'll always like / dislike something. The great thing about it is that you dont have to do anything to unlock these games. You can play them just from the mainmenu even w/o playing the main game. A lot of these are good fun like the good old arcades (bug balance, hurdles race, jump rope, submarine, space attack, snow surfing, racing, banana thief etc) but with wii motion controls. Surprisingly, for some games, the wii motion controls are not so smooth/intuitive. You really need very tight hands. So, I didn't like playing golf and a few other games.
Bottomline: Main game can be frustrating for beginners. Huge variety of mini-games. Add a Review

I think it's fun I'm not a gamer at all so the help that this game gives me is much appreciated. Like I don't have to run and get every single ring because it will let me finish the level anyway, and it kind of steers me in the right direction so I get all that I need. Maybe it's best for people like me who have only ever owned an Atari (in 1983 when I was 4) and now a Wii (or for people who are younger than 5). :) I like it. I play it pretty often and pat myself on the back when I get through a tough level. Add a Review
