Shadowbane is a waste I've played Shadowbane since beta. It's a game with great potential, but its developers and programmers strive to fail in every aspect possible.
Shadowbane has been on the open market for over 1 year and it still performs worse than some games that are in beta1. For example, the engine has been running on pure cpu power. The software engineers failed to utilize graphics cards or sound cards.
SB.EXE instant crash errors, line of sight errors, pathing that doesnt even pretend to work properly, severe class balance issues that should've been addressed in beta, siege warfare on player build cities is a joke and only just recently have they implimented any sort of modification to it, constant class changes that keep you continuously rerolling characters because when UBI swings the "nerf bat"... they swing it hard, CCR/CSR's that fly by the seat of their pants without any regard for the players, nearly a complete lack of customer support, map casting, gold duping, blaytont favortism by the "Featured Character" GM's at "FC events" that distributed "phat lewt" to a very small handful of people on multiple occassions.
They released an expansion pack for Shadowbane while the main program itself was filled with bugs. They've opened several new servers and migrated characteres over with promises of "new and exciting adventure"... then executed an expert "cut and paste" job.
The quality of the graphics are very, very sad.
This game, and everything associated with it, is a waste of time and money. I'm never buying anything that involves Ubi Soft or Wolfpack Studios again. Add a Review

A blast! From a returning player. I played this game near release and LOVED it for quite a while. I finally got fed up with the cheats that were going on back then. This game is way too emotionally involving to have cheats like they had at the beginning.
I recently returned to the game and started on the Wrath server. (One of the newer ones) The first thing I noticed was the graphics update. The game looks very nice now. Also the land has changed completely. On the Wrath server nothing is familiar. There are now mines that guilds must fight over too!
If you have never played Shadowbane there are some things you should know. This is a guild only game... meaning you will have to join (or start) a guild at some point. The game is very group based. However, this doesn't mean you stand around waiting for a group. Newbie land is just the introduction to the game and has no reflection on the game itself. This game is about politics, guilds and struggle for power. You *DO* make a difference in this game which is unlike most games out therenow. It is *the* PVP game of the decade that's for sure.
PVP in this game isn't about 'ganking'. That isn't to say you won't get ganked, you will... a lot. But it is all part of the game mechanics. You quickly find out who the bad guys are and who you want to be aligned with. You *CAN* get revenge.
You have a list displayed with the names of everyone who has killed you and what guild they are from.
You can record in game movies as you play the game for later playback (within the game screen) The beauty of this in game recorder is that you can actually walk around in the movie! You can record an epic battle and play it back to see what went right... or wrong... Which way the baddies came from, what their strategy was... or wasn't. It is the single most exciting game recorder ever.
My server population during peak hours is 1000+

WORTH THE LITTLE BIT I would start by telling ya that if ya have played the original like I have for the past 7 months, then you will know this game is very addictive and fun or boring at times. The number of people playing have decreased but Yet people like me who have hope stay. The game really started getting boring when they started more servers but now that they have completly taken out about 5 to 7 of their servers and made new maps and new things to do there is a real reason to play. Lag is NOT as bad anymore and I have not crashed in a long time. Lets just say alot of PVP and it really is exiting to say the least. ANd hell it is only 20.00 bucks and I know people waste that much on things much more stupid so WHY NOT? I say go for it I know I am and can't wait to get it in and try oput the new mobs,zones,classes,runes, ect...... Add a Review
