Not perfect, but cool Pros: Awesome detailed sculpt; cool paint job; awesome accessories; shoulder plates, chest plate and head can be removed and switched with other figures for custom Spartans; Color scheme is much whiter than it appears in Amazon photos
Cons: Joints feel weak, which makes posability a potential problem; images on Macfarlane's website show grenade stored on back of hip (Amazon images show it on the thigh) but holes on hips are too small to accommodate storage peg; Rifle is a bit loose in Spartan's hands; Proportions might be a little off but looks good overall

Halo Action Figures - from a Child User's View This review is not for collectors; it is for people buying these items as toys to play with. My 8 year old son is a fan of the PC Console based HALO game, so for his birthday we got him a Master Chief and a Jackal Sniper. We have a couple of the other figures on order. As action figure toys, they have some notable flaws. 1)The hands cannot grip the weapons well at all. These are fighting figures and they can't even hold and manipulate their rifles for the kid's scenarios. Hand position and lack of articulation is a big disappointment. 2)The Master Chief's rifle is designed and built so that the muzzle falls off and is nearly impossible to keep glued in place. 3) The Master Chief box said it comes with grenades; there were no grenades. 4)They are not particularly sturdy. The Jackal Sniper's head, in particular, is prone to coming off. 5) The weapons come with little pegs so they can be held and so they can fit into holding spots. You will have to glue the pegs into the weapons or - you will lose them, or they will stick into the holding holes and have to be pried loose to be put back into the weapon.
Overall, my son is happy to have these guys, but I notice that he clearly does not find them very much fun to play with compared to his expectations and to his other action figures and Legos. I believe these design and construction issues are a big part of that. Add a Review

Excellent figure with amazing detail This figure is just downright awesome. NECA recreated our favorite assassin with amazing detail. This figure is such a good quality for the price that I purchased two, just so one could stay mint. It is important that the figure be given in the appropriate age range! There are a ton of small pieces and the figure simply isn't safe for young ones. The figure is for ages 17+ so don't get it for your five year old. Add a Review

batteries not included Cortana is cool, and every Halo nerd wants one on his shelf. But this may fall short of cool.
First, the led lights beam at her, not through her. which does fails to properly illuminate Cortana.
Second, the plastic has seams and irregularities that show up when the lights are on. this takes coolness away (for me anyways) from the smart and sexy Cortana that we all love. But you get what you pay for, as they say. Andthis is what you get. Add a Review
